I was scared. Very scared.
It would be a lie if I said that I understood the why they were taking me away. I didn't know what I had done wrong. They told me that it wasn't anything bad, but still I didn't want to leave. Anyway, our leader took me through the forest to the riverbank, where we met a stranger.
They exchanged a few words, my leader looked at me quickly, before he disappeared into the forest. The stranger came over and looked me straight in the eyes, while I was paralyzed with fear.
"Come with me" He said. I know it sounds strange but ... there was something in his eyes that made me trust him, so I followed him, to an uncertain future.
That day, I met a nice lady, her husband and my new family.

I rested in the shade of a tree, hoping to escape the scorching sun. We had gone hunting and exploring the jungle, and stopped for a moment next to a river to regain our strength. Rather, I stopped; my comrades were very busy chasing and competing each other.
When we saw each other's faces the first time, we never thought we would get along so well, but here we are, you wouldn't find a better team in kilometers.
They're probably the most problematic of the pack. Hibicus is pretty surly and has little sense of humor, and Rhodo is very arrogant. But they always try their best to improve, they're always the first to offer their help and that is something I appreciate very much, and I hope that others do too.
I looked up when I heard a 'splash', Hib had pushed Rhodo into the river, and then launched himself at him.
"Well, guess we're doing this now" I said to myself, and I ran to take a dip too.

Things have been very bad lately.
I just realize that the years don't pass in vain for anybody, and there's nothing we can do to change it.
It seems it was only yesterday when I ran happily in the meadow, or that little Malus was taking her first steps...
Swind... changed, he is no longer effusive, no longer spends the day dancing and humming, he's not even interested in hunting. But we all understand, we all lost a part of ourselves. For me, first it was Hib, and now ...
I went out to drink a little, and on my way back I saw him.
My leader was hunched over a small hill, probably mourning. I didn't want to bother and I thought it was best to leave him alone, so I don't know why I went over to sit next to him.
Yesterday, Rhodo died, I saw him at the time of his departure. He remained recumbent, calm.
He said: 'Sometimes I think deer make fun of us, but it doesn't matter, because in the end we'll eat them.' I laughed. He looked at me with a smile, and closed his eyes.
Yesterday, Calluna died. I didn't saw her do it, because she had gone to sleep with Anthem.
And now I was standing next to him, in silence.
With his head pointing to the ground, he spoke.
"I loved her." He announced as if it was the greatest secret of his life. "She was my everything and-and I think I never told her. I never told her, and now she's gone." He said in a broken voice.
"She knew it, maybe better than anyone." I tried to cheer him up. I don't know if it would help, because I myself was devastated by the loss of the wolf that was like my mother during all these years.
"She lay down next to me, you know? she licked my ears and sang to me. She said: 'Look Anthem, look at everything you've accomplished, look how far you've come'. He took a deep breath. 'Aren't you glad Anthem? I'm glad you came'. And I didn't know what to answer, I'm an idiot, she deserved more." His condition was lamentable.
"Sir, do you know why I followed you?" He denied. "When we met, I could have chosen to flee, return with my previous pack. I thought about it a lot but... in your eyes, I saw mine" I didn't know if that really made sense. "I trusted you from that moment. If she had really wanted to, she would have left. I really think she loved you"
"I saw myself in your eyes, Al. I thought we resembled each other, and look at us now, we're both alone" I felt a little sad at that comment, but I kept quiet.
"I'm terrified of not seeing her again"
"Don't say that. You just have to look up"
Slowly, he raised his head to heaven, and I did the same. Among all the stars, there was a cluster of them that jutted out a little more. We stared and I heard him say:
"I love you"
And for a tiny moment, one of the stars seemed to shine more.
