"she's different. she's uncontrollable, untamable. shes barely containable..." Nicole heard her mother quietly whisper to the alpha male.
the next night a fierce storm gathered around the pack's territory, there was lighting a bright as the sun, thunder as loud as gunshots and rain as heavy as a million rocks.
the pack hid in their shelters terrified of the storm, but not Nicole. Nicole felt no fear as she stood hidden in the storm only her silhouette could be seen when the lightning flashed behind her dark, black body.
the next morning the storm had blown itself out as the alphas cautiously came toward her.
"Nicole, We must tell you something." one said.
"you are too different to be kept here, the pack are fearful of their safety, you must leave right now." the other continued.
"b-but I'm not even old enough to hunt for myself" she whimpered.
suddenly she was wildly running through the forest blinded by her tears as the alphas drove her from their territory laughing and snarling and biting her until they knew she wasn't coming back to the pack... ever again.
for days she walked in search of food and answers. answers to a question she wouldn't dare ask.
after days of not eating she collapsed into the bare, dry earth to later awake to a wolf confused with who Nicole was. he introduced himself as lupus and brought her food and water and stayed with her until she was able to stand.
"Come with me little one you can sleep with our pack," Lupus said.
off they walked into the sunset leaving the dry earth to a rich forest and a nice home.
the memories still haunt her and always will of the day she was abandoned. all her questions remain unanswered and unasked because she dare not to say a word and risk her new pack seeing her tears.
