Biography Paloma had lived in one pack all her life, birthing litters of pups and seeing the strongest survive to adulthood. During a hunt with her packmates, a heavy snowstorm of late November began. They soon were struggling through growing inches of snow, and it was darkening out, so visibility was poor. Paloma was pressed next to her young son, sheltering him from the worst of the winds. While the oldest in the hunting group had made better ground. The cold had her feeling fatigue like never before and Paloma had to stop to pull ice from her pads, so she told her son to make it to the adult male who was in front of them and she would catch up soon.
Though when she had looked up again she had lost sight of them. She called for them, but they couldn't have heard her. She pressed in the direction the had been heading but she only came across a boulder Paloma could shelter from the wind. The morning when she lifted her head, her frame felt heavy from the snow that piled on her overnight. Standing and shaking the snow off, she couldn't catch scent of her territory and so she padded across the snowy plain in search of landmarks she recognized. After a while of search, she howled calling lost for her pack but only a territorial call echoed back. Feeling somewhat desperate for help, she cantered in the direction of another wolf with a helpless yip in reply. Met by a brown male, she showed no intent to fight and he immediately relaxed. Asking for directions home Paloma was hopeful, but he looked confused but offered for her to remain in his pack until she can find a way home and so she rejoiced in his amiability. Paloma thinks she may as well stick around until she's up to returning home and to her son, though her own mother should be able to raise him..
