Biography I'd loved her since we were pups. I had been walking by the river when I heard frantic splashing. I charged into the clearing to see her, Birch, being held down by a rogue. My gaze went red and I leapt at him. I felt my fangs tear open his neck, felt my claws slice down his sides. But I didn't stop. I stopped when the life faded out of him.
I dragged her out, believing I had watched her die. I stood over her, about to howl in mourning, when I heard her whisper my name. It slipped out of me: "Birch, my love." I said it softly, but she still heard.
Instead of scorning me, she pressed her sodden pelt to mine. I helped her back to camp, and even now we are inseparable.
They say true love lasts forever. I never thought they'd be right.
