While the other members of the court admired and loved him, he could not say anything to them, only listen. This made him quiet and his mind became his most powerful weapon, much like Queen Irafel and her second sight. Like any male, he wanted to love, but he was watched. So he and his first cousin Darmina fell in love. Out of all the royal family, she he cherished most of all. Darmina never asked him for anything, and with her, he could speak for hours while she listened. It was liberating for him. Their love was a closely guarded secret, though he never failed to carry one of her flowers into battle as a favor, most often a rose. The blood would not show on the red petals.
