Biography Charcoal was a rather normal wolf for most of his life. He grew up within the pack, training to become a great hunter. He was determined and strong, but he was known for having a sharp mind and a kind heart. He was a bit odd in looks compared to those in his litter, but he was loved by his family and pack.
Everything went downhill after his brother died. His brother, Graphite , was a bit of a runt, but he was probably the most determined wolf that Charcoal knew. One day, Graphite and Charcoal went on a patrol around their territory. Charcoal felt a chill pass over him. He just knew that they should head back, but Graphite egged him on to finish their rounds. Charcoal gave in to his brother's pleading, and followed the small gray wolf.
Soon, they came upon a grand and sprawling black tree. There were no leaves on the curling branches and the bark was as black as onyx. Charcoal froze in his spot, his blue green eyes transfixed to the tall and spindly thing. Graphite paused, then turned to his brother, saying they should leave right then. Charcoal didn't respond. The wolf's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he blacked out. When he awoke, he saw what was left of his beloved brother. Charcoal felt the warm blood on his muzzle and paws. A velvety voice whispered promises of power and control to Charcoal. He'd have everything if he just let go. The voice told him sickly sweet words to tempt him even more, but Charcoal shook it out. He ran to the lake and mourned by himself as he cleaned Graphite's blood off of himself.
Through the months after that, the voice kept pleading and promising to Charcoal. After awhile, the sweet voice became louder and louder. It screamed inside his cranium. Whenever he tried to sleep or eat the voice would shriek so loud that Charcoal's vision would blur.
He gave in. There was nothing that he could do. Charcoal was starving, sickly, and exhausted. He wanted to tell someone, but he knew the voice wouldn't let him. The voice said that they would kill him for what he did to his brother. Charcoal just wanted to see Graphite's bright blue eyes one last time...
He became an observer to his own life. The voice took the reigns and seemed to fit in seamlessly. He was a charmer and a fighter. The new Charcoal seemed to have bigger plans, but he wasn't getting too far. The rest of his pack seemed a bit suspicious towards his odd behavior. This thing still didn't waver. He mocked Charcoal, and often started fights. He seemed to have no sense of self preservation. The thing had an insatiable appetite for power and blood. He never let anyone cross him and get away with it. Charcoal hated just sitting by, but he couldn't do anything. He just wants everything to go back to how it was.
