Biography First Father disappeared, then Mother. Father was killed and taken by humans, leaving Mother to fend and care for him herself. Every day Magnus would wait silently for Mother to come back from her hunt, but one day, she didn't. He waited and waited, only to get more anxious by the hour. He whined, his stomach rumbling and his pelt ragged. His ribs were now pressing against his flesh and he only grew hungrier and scrawnier. He hadn't yet learned to hunt properly, leaving him to be quite useless. There was a stream nearby from which he drank undisturbed from. However, his thirst quenched, his hunger was not.
Magnus's breath came and went with difficulty and his stomach and every bone in his body throbbed to the point where he collapsed completely. His nose and breath were warm and dry and only to make matters worse, he was sick. His head spun and he couldn't get up. Whining, a mouse scuttled past him and he forced his aching body to rise. Determination hardened his gaze and he took a leap forward, attempting to capture the mouse between his paws. He failed. Magnus tired quickly but finally captured the mouse.
That single mouse was the only thing he had ate that week. The next week came and rolled by quickly -- then the next and the next. Until finally, he didn't think he could go on anymore. Collapsing, he shut his eyes and was met by the razor-sharp teeth of pain and darkness. His breath was ragged and his voice creaky. Finally, he awaited his arrival to The Heavens.
Faint voices suddenly brushed his ears. "Look..." A masculine voice murmured. "Is he alive still?" Another one questioned. "He's still breathing!" A feminine voice scolded them, she carefully sniffed him. "And he's starving...Maverick, quickly, go get some prey." The masculine voice uttered again before he heard paw steps pounding against the earthy forest floor. "Wake up..."
Magnus felt the tasty, bloodied, meat slide into his maw and the constant and soft urges to chew. He obeyed. Suddenly, his eyes fluttered open and he lifted his head. Without a second thought, he got up and staggered to the carcass and quickly began chewing. Finally, he lifted his head and glanced back at them, his muzzle bloody. "Thank you..." He murmured, licking some of the blood from his muzzle. The feminine wolf bowed her head. "You're welcome."
Sometimes...change is good.
