Biography
Wendigo is the former Alpha Male of the Arkytior pack. He took over from Jasken in the winter of his third year when Nal'vera became Alpha Female, and handed his Alpha position to his daughter Nal'vera's mate, Baralai, in the spring of his ninth year.
Wendigo was chosen at a young age from a neighboring pack as a potential mate for Nal'vera. The two were inseparable from the time they were small, and her choice of him surprised no one. He trained under Arador until his succession. Though the two are still good friends, Wendigo's closest friend is Balthazar, Nal'vera's uncle.
While Nal'vera is the diplomat, Wendigo is the strategist, coming up with battle plans when his pack's territory is threatened and more often than not organizing the hunts. He is a natural leader, leading his pack with a quiet authority, though he is not above taking advice from more experienced packmembers.
Wendigo is blind in his left eye, a wound left over from a run-in he and Balthazar had with a panther when they were young, in which Balthazar suffered a shredded ear and several deep scratches and Wendigo barely escaped with his life. Because of this, he tends to stand with his head turned slightly and ears aimed to his blind side.
Because he relies on his vision less than the others, Wendigo is an excellent night hunter. He is, also, a terrible swimmer, and while he might accompany Balthazar, Nashalya, and Nal'vera to the swimming hole, he spends most of his time there finding pretty rocks and flowers to give to Nal'vera, despite her continued attempts to goad him into swimming lessons with the pack's pups.
Though a poor swimmer, he is an excellent climber, and has been known to shimmy his way up a tree in search of birds' eggs, a delicacy among the pack, or just to nap, though this has become increasingly difficult with his advancing age.

Intelligent, friendly, and loyal. Wendigo also has a good sense of humor, developed over a lifetime of playing tricks on his packmembers with Balthazar.
Preferences
Enjoys sunbathing on the rocks by the swimming hole when he's not seeking out gifts for Nal'vera. Dislikes storms because the noise and scent of the rain make it difficult for him to hear and smell what's on his blindside. His favorite food is deer, but her also has a preference for birds' eggs, which he obtains by shimmying up trees to pilfer from nests.
