Caeleste's tail lashed, emerald gaze glimmering with pure hate. His mother, a lithe, fairly thin she-wolf, backed slowly away from her son's snapping teeth, though his hungry maw followed her.
"You raised me, telling me I would be powerful! Heroic!" He lunged down, trusting his nose close to Cosmic's. "And you're a filthy, lying fool."
She whined, shrinking down with her pelt utterly fluffed, a look of terror in her stare.
She was afraid of her own pup.
"I--I didn't want you to k-know." She whispered, flinching harshly at the male's sarcastic growl.
He paused; then his lips peeled back in a twisted grin of laughter.
"How comical. You thought I wouldn't find out my own bloodline is against pack law? How my damn father's in another pack, for the dark Lord's sake?"
"I did it all for you." The underfed female murmured, slowly letting out a shaky breath.
Caeleste chuckled sweetly. "It didn't work out in the end for you, mother."
He lashed out, claws slashing across her throat, neatly delivering death to her; she yelped, twisting desperately out of reach, and crashed to the earth.
He watched heartlessly as she sunk in pools of her own scarlet liquid; then he turned away.
She shivered violently. "I-I'm sorry it had to come to this, m-my dear..." She croaked, voice hopelessly raspy and soft.
