he slowed to an easy walk as the scent markers at the edge of steels territory hit his nostrils and then dissipated. he turned to his travel companion: the one he was throwing away everything he had known for.
"i will find us a new home. i swear this to you, sleet. if no others will accept us then we shall start our own pack."
his heart skipped a beat as sleet smiled softly and pressed her nose to his cheek.
