Biography
When Sallow was born, he tried to get along with the other pups. When they played, he tried to play too. He never grasped the concept though. During wrestling, he would whine as if he were legitimately hurt, and fight as if he were actually going to kill them. His mother noticed this, yet never did anything. The Alphas, however, had other plans.
Instead of banishing or killing the pup for his "misbehavior", they decided to use what they thought was his fierce nature to battle. Instead of letting him play, they forced him to go with the main explore team to watch as they engaged any animal or wolf in sight. Sallow, at first, heavily resisted the plans. He refused to go with them quietly. He wanted to be close to his mother. His mother, in response, obeyed the Alphas, and gave Sallow a green bandanna.
"Here," she spoke, sliding the bandanna over to the Alphas. "this will calm him, since it has my scent on it." They glanced at each other, nodded to his mother, and tied the bandanna around his neck. Sallow let out a gasp of enlightenment, and grabbed the bandanna with his jaws. He cuddled it warmly, like it were his mother in the flesh. The Alphas nodded, and sent the mother to do her duties. They heard the commotion of the Explore team, and sent Sallow off with them, to which he happily complied.
That bandanna did a lot more than just comforting him.
Sallow developed schizophrenia due to the forced social isolation from pups and the forced separation from his mother. He first recognized it as schizophrenia after attacking a pack mate in a delusion that spirits sent by a mythical beast were going to skin him alive. When another pack mate grabbed him by the bandanna to pull him off of the pack mate he was attacking, one of the fabric folds covered his nose; his mother flooded his mind. Almost instantly, the delusions vanished.
The pack member, scarred from the attack, told the Alphas he no longer felt safe. It was him, or Sallow. This pack member happened to be the Beta of the pack. For Sallow, this meant banishment. However, he would not go easily. His hallucinations also appear under great stress, and when confronted, he saw everybody as demonic hellhounds, sent by Lucifer himself to take Sallow. He lunged at the Alpha Female, but was knocked over by the Alpha Male, whom took his bandanna and held it over his nose until the lingering scent of his mother calmed him. He was calmly escorted by two members, then abandoned.
Now, after a scarring past, Sallow resides here. He is the top warrior, but cannot go alone.
You don't want to see him fight without somebody there to calm him.
