Biography Liath felt her paws drag beneath her, her head bent with a sharp pain. She meandered into the forest, slowly looking over her shoulder. From the outskirt of the forest she could see her fellow pack members frolicking in their youth, celebrating the new Alpha. Her eyes twitched with regret; she wished them a good life.
----
Snow burned her muzzle, body fighting to move as the cold lulled her close to the border of life. She heaved herself through the blizzard as her breath wavered, pelt coated in a thin veil of snow and ice. Her paws were numb and drooped with water; she concluded that she was going to die. Succumbing to the turmoil raging around her, she fainted in the snow. Her eyes fluttered before loosing consciousness, two wings beat down before she finally blacked out.
Raising her head slowly, she noted the warmth that now encompassed her. Her surroundings were unfamiliar and intimidating to her ill mind; her sense of smell had been thoroughly impaired from the blizzard. Heaving her dead weight off the ground, she glanced quickly at the walls. They had an orange tinge to them; like a fine dust that stained her paws when she clawed at it. The wall left behind the shape of her paw, five markings. Looking further down the wall, she saw an array of paws that each were different than one another. She quickly counted them; rounding it up to about thirty individual paw marks. So mesmerised by the paws; she failed to realise a wolf was stalking up on her. Her head jutted with fear as she felt the breath of the wolf ricocheting off her pelt. The wolf walked closer to the wall, the same wings tucked neatly to his sides like the ones she saw before passing out. "It's an old wall, this one," The wolf inclined. "All these markings are from past Alphas. Only Alphas remain on this wall." His eyes sifted through the paws; noticing one new marking. "You touched the wall?" Liath's head was still bowed beneath him, back arched with fear. "I take your silence as a 'yes'? Only paws of an Alpha remain on this wall; not even natures most crude attacks can disturb these incantations. You have lead before then, haven't you?" Liath remained fixated on the wings, to which the male noted. "I am Quaker. Pleased to meet your acquaintance. I understand you are overwhelmed with the recent events, but please keep up." Before she even registered what he had said, Quaker had turned his back on her and ran further into the cave.
She swivelled her head; noting the snow falling outside at the mouth of the cave. Beyond that, she saw a mountain range decorated with snow, clouds congregating below the peak. She trotted over to the mouth, ready to depart, but quickly was disheartened when she discovered a chasm of empty space. They were high in altitude; a steep fall was present. She could not escape from the mountain she was currently on. Her breathing quickened, her back legs trembling as her heart lunged into her throat. Slowly backing away into the cave, she quivered with anxiety. She knew she had no choice but to adventure further into the bowels of the cave complex.
She edgily took one step closer to the darkness.
