Biography A dire wolf is a rare thing. Thought to all have been long extinct, a tiny group of a dozen or so still lingers, scattered across the world. Ricochet and her younger brother, Strife were the only two dire wolves within their clan and within the whole region. Despite this, they really didn't care and lived the pack life along side their canis lupus cousins. Dire wolves were always told as evil beings with supernatural strength and speed. They lived a life of solitude to the world outside their tight packs and slaughtered prey and predators alike as they pleased. As a result to these foolish stories, Ricochet and Strife were feared and shunned by their pack mates. Even the clan alphas were frightened by them and because of this, they remained low ranked omegas who didn't belong to a pack; they just lingered around the clan dens with the clan officials and alphas.
Ricochet accepted her fate and was rather content but Strife grew angry of these stupid tales and accusations. The young male wanted to become the creature the wolves were terrified of so they had a real reason to fear them. Ricochet managed to draw him away from these ideas long enough for his anger to subside and they would go back to their normal duties of as an omega which basically was just to stay out of trouble.
Daily, Ricochet went out of her way to befriend the other wolves who traveled in and out of the clan dens in hopes of changing a few of their minds about Dire Wolves and maybe even make a new friend to pull her out of isolation. One of in particular, Mountain Dream, the clan alpha's daughter, didnt like this too much. The young never wolf never liked the female nor her brother and went out of her way to make sure they, and everyone else knew it. Mountain Dream mostly found ways in which to verbally or physically humiliate the two dire wolves so they couldn't fight back in front of the others. Ricochet hated this but with her predicament, there was nothing she could do to stop it. She just smiled through it and placed it in her past.
Ricochet and Strife were returning from a solo hunt when they over heard the familiar voice of Mountain Dream. With closer examination she was found talking to a close pack mate of hers in a hushed voice as if she were plotting. The siblings assumed that it was a her plan to attack her next victim, that hopefully wasn't them. It wasn't. Mountain Dream was discussing her plan to become the next alpha and it didn't involve waiting until her mother stepped down from the position. She and the wolf she was talking to, Storm, we're going to cause a forest fire in the clan dens which would cause the residents to evacuate. Then, while everyone was distracted, Mountain Dream would corner her mother and kill her. The fire would burn the corpse to make it appear as though she had gotten trapped and perished. After a time of "grieving," the alpha's daughter would take her "rightful" rank as alpha. Ricochet and Strife were baffled by her words and immediately left the two to warn the alpha of her daugher's plan. Mountain Dream heard them but didn't worry about it too much. Who would believe two dire wolves?
The alpha stood in front of the male and female fuming. You coukd almost see literal smoke puffing from either ears. She didn't believe a single word of their truth and in rampage, she kicked Ricochet and Strife out of her clan. Ricochet begged for forgiveness but that nearly got her killed. Strife drug her away and they saught refuge at the edge of the territory for the night having no where else to go.
About a week's time went by and the dire wolves were still close by but by now, they had established a more permanent home. They didn't even think of joining another clan. They were finished with pack life and begging for acceptance. Ricochet was sleeping underneath the shade of a rooted tree when the first whiff of smoke passed through her acute nostrils. Flicking her eyes open, she knew exactly what it was. The female looked to her brother who shared her expression.
That damn wolf did it.

Before setting out, Ricochet had one last thing to take care of. After recieving their new ranks, Ricochet was also given the responsibility of deciding Mountain Dream's fate.

In the end, the dire chose to simply banish her to the outlands to fend for herself.
