Altero enjoyed life in his new pack. All the pack females cooed over him and his aloof attitude, while the males appreciated his obvious talents as a leader. Life was quite complete, except of course for Simia's heated glares and obvious dislike of him. Especially once she learned that they were expected to become the next alpha pair. It took years of persuasion and devotion. Altero had to work his tail off to earn Simia's respect, or else he risked losing his chance at alpha. He was required to be observant of her and even though Lusren all but told them they would be together, Altero was always on his toes for a chance to impress her.
