Starlight, I was taught that if a dog start to pull, turn in the opposite direction until they learn to stop pulling. It work on a dogs that not stubborn |

Recall is huge, I learned that real quick. The area I live in now is somewhere where recall in the semi-rural areas is a MUST. |

Personally I think dogs may end up pulling in either, but harnesses are easier on their necks if they do pull |

My female frenchie is a menace. She walks fine on a leash but if she gets loose from her harness or collar will run off. My schnauzer was also a menace was bad on a harness, collar, and slip lead (potty breaks). Ended up having to use martingales for him but even then he was bad. Training he’d pick up fast but whenever he was out he was just crazy. Very intelligent though and best dog. |

My little dog pulls on both harness and leash, but my bigger one is very good with both. the difference? I only trained the big one. This is of course different by breed, owner, dog, and situation. |

@Whispering Wood, I don't remember what my dog trainer told me when I was learning from her to train dogs as that was going to be my job for Rover, but that is something I remember her telling me and a bunch of people she told when ask to train their dogs |

Whoa, looks like harnesses are a big favorite. But I was wondering since I feel the same as @mica. I've had a dog that pulls AND who slipped out with a collar. The second one didn't really need a leash since we lived in an area where he had enough space to roam and had good recall. |
