| Azure Research your word count range for the genre you’re you’re writing in, if you’re going the tradition publishing route word count effects how agents review manuscript. So if you’re over your word count they might try to have you split the book in two or reclassify the genre type it’s in if you don’t want it separate. Having long chapters is not a bad thing. In the groups I’m in some people have a 5K word count minimum instead of 1k but I’m not sure how many chapter total they aim for. |
