Here's my main five characters: (More may be added later :3)

Helios
my son, my sun, my pride and joy
The oldest of the group. He's got a nifty little role in the group, as he is the Sunbearer. He tall. He's a huge softie in his oh-so-old age, but was certainly no stranger to fighting in his youth. (Years ago, he would have fought someone for a cookie XD) A few years ago, he adopted his darling daughter, Comfy.

Current Sunbearer to the dragons and prophet of the Moon. Called to the temple after his village was destroyed, Helios has dutifully spread the Moon's messages to her people. Along his journeys, he met the closest friends he ever had (or would have). He is a fierce protector of all he holds dear. The long life granted to all Sunbearers, however, speaks of lonelier days and years and eons to come... (my gosh, y'all, Cygnus is probably going to be his first taste of grief since his village was destroyed and I'm so flipping sad about that aaa.)
Hollow
my lil ghosty son
Now this is a dude with a past. (Translation: I've thought more about his backstory than anyone else's) He's a ghost who has been around longer than even Helios has been alive. He found love twice and it just couldn't work out either time. Honestly, kinda sucks to be Hollow. But hey! He's got a found family now! So like, it can't be ALL that bad right? He's got an adopted daughter and everything.

He never truly had a home until he died. His town thought him cursed by the Moon, and perhaps he was, but perhaps the curse was the town itself and not the strange wings and tail he was born with. The only grace he found was with two other young dragons: Hare and Amethyst. Hare, Hollow--then named Branch--thought, was kind. He was strong and swift and proud. He was Branch's first friend. But Amethyst? Amethyst was his beloved. She was bright and sweet, surely the embodiment of all good things in the world.
And then the mountain fell, and Amethyst was injured saving Branch's life. She was never able to fly again. The town, seeing this as his curse in action, hunted him down, leaving only a ghost for one dragon to mourn. Hollow remained in the forest surrounding his hometown for years before finally rendering it nothing but dust and ashes. He was alone for many years before a certain yellow dragon bearing a sun marking on his shoulder wandered into his forest...
Rose
my magical flower baby
She's like a sweet grandmother, almost. Except she's not grandmother aged. She adores plants and stars and magic. She's like an aunt to Comfy and Moss. She's also created two darling little creatures.

Something about this little red dragon with stars on her wings and a sparkle in her eyes was always different, special. She had talents no other dragon in the town of Stoneskale had seen. She was fascinating. She was frightening. She was... Other. It was almost as if she simply was magic. "Surely," the dragons around town said, "the Moon will call her any day now, and she will be the Sunbearer!" She was never called, and after the true Sunbearer came to light, Rose was shunned. She had always been different, but now she was the wrong kind of different. "Surely," the townsdragons gossiped, "she'll never be anything special if she's like this." They suddenly thought her tricks childish, her acts meaningless, her creations a waste of resources.
And then, she joined the Sunbearer's party... (sounds like an anime title lol. "That Time I Joined the Sunbearer's Party")
Moss
my little adrenaline junkie daughter
Would not, in fact, fight you for a peanut, despite making everyone she's ever met think otherwise. She's a thrill-seeker through and through, and often drags Comfy with her on her little misadventures. She's the kind of dragon to stick with someone through thick and thin. She aspires to explore the furthest corners of Lawthdre, the land in which my characters live.

She's the daughter of a posessed plushie and a ghost child. Absolutely nothing about her is normal. Normal is very clearly overrated anyway, considering the dragons she calls family: the Sunbearer, a ghost who was deemed cursed, a magician who was apparently hated for... not being the Sunbearer (??? What was that all about anyway?), and... a ball of sunshine. That last one is actually pretty normal.
In any case, Moss was raised by an unconventional family of dragons with unfortunate pasts and wonderful adventures. Moss always loved those tales of adventure, of whodunnits and curses and towns in crisis. She was in a family of heroes, and she wanted to be just like them. So, once she was old enough ("But you're still so young!" her parents and uncle said, as if they had any idea of normal life spans), she dragged her cousin outside the gates of the village and the two began their travels across the world.
One day, they would return home.
Unless the world had other plans...?
Comfy
my ball of sunshine daughter
She is such a darling. She and her dad are both the sun. Comfy's got the warmth and Helios's got the "burn you to a crisp." She's forgiving and kind a quiet and gets super excited about any little thing that catches her attention. She likes to sing.

She was raised in a family of misfits. This was perfectly fine by her. As her cousin would say, normal is overrated. Comfy herself though is as normal as a dragon can be. Probably. (Who is she to judge normal?) She's a bundle of sunshine, always ready with a kind word and a warm smile. She gardens, she bakes (her family does not speak of the mutltitude of fires she's started in her attemps...), she hunts, she fishes, she plays with the youngest dragons. But maybe she's a bit too normal.
After her cousin begs her to go on an adventure with her, certain strange things start happening.
(Why did it have to be fire?)
It only gets worse from there...
