Ah. Right. So, apparently, there are major issues with being late to a dialysis appointment. (For those that do not know: dialysis is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally.)

The consequences for showing up an hour late, a singular hour, can shorten one's life span by 23 days.

And there are complications that arise from shortening dialysis treatments or missing treatments entirely. Which include but isn't limited CHF and death.

We have shown up... three hours late to picking up patients to go to their appointments. There's likely been longer.
