Name: Itsy Bitsy Mitzy
"Mitzy" Species: Phidippus Regius
"Regal Jumping Spider" Sex: Female Colours: Black, tan, and bright orange Hatch date: 7/27/25 Date I got her: 1/18/26 • As many of you may know by now, courtesy of chat and me gushing about her, I have a pet spider. Her name is Mitzy. She is just nearly seventh months old, and I've had her for a little over a full whole month. I absolutely adore her. She is so very precious to me, so I am dedicating this thread to all things Mitzy. Stories, photos, and yes, even artwork. You may ask questions, draw her, etc. All posts by me will be pinned, and organized with a table of contents here! Funfact one: Her name! "Mitzy" was actually inspired by my almost-name. It was genuinely one of the options on the table for me as a baby. I did not end up being a Mitzy, or a Ricky, lol. When I got my lil girlie, I couldn't think of a name.
It took me about three days until it suddenly dawned on me; "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" playing in my head. I wanted that, but then realized Mitzy rhymed perfectly. So thus she became "Itsy Bitsy Mitzy" |

Mitzy has retreated into her hammock. She's been there about two days, and was a lil sluggish the day before that. She gets like this when she's prepping for a molt. Sure enough, she's doing her silly little molting dance in her enclosure!! I am misting her enclosure as needed, but she'll likely be in there for a while. In the meantime, here's another gorgeous art piece!! This time by my friend Mildly.moldy on Instagram! ^-^

So. Mitzy laid an egg sack. Infertile, but still crazy. She'll probably eat them because the won't hatch 💀✌️ nature is beautiful lol |
