rabies pride was a movement that began on tumblr, made to represent trans autistic people who throughout their lives may have been treated like some kind of diseased animal- with other people avoiding them for no reason other than that they were 'different' or 'weird'. however, people took the rabies movement and decided to make a joke out of it, which popularized it as a satire thing which meant people genuinely using rabies pride were made fun of. goes to show autistic people can't do anything without being made fun of, can we? rabies pride is still viewed as a joke, however it means something to me. i am a trans autistic person who has been literally and metaphorically treated like an animal my entire life, and rabies pride makes me feel seen. rabies pride is an important part of my identity.
