Hymir literally is gonna be like "you're not my mother" in the most respectful way he can. Poor lad is overstimulated and overwhelmed - and so he's being a bit snappish, but he will acknowledge that he could've been more respectful to Storm but that's about it

Hymir is a big boy and he can back up his words. Hes just a little pissed everyone is coming to his mother and he was a bit overwhelmed by all the people - so a combination of social anxiety and protectiveness is leading him to be more curt/snappish than usual.
Plus, he doesn't want his mom to get overwhelmed by all the patients that will be under her care - and he just thinks it unfair that they should waste their resources on outsiders when they're running low anyway : he values his pack, he just shows it in an odd way. Oh, he definitely didn't know it was the Beta - he was just annoyed by the loud yelling that doesn't help in a situation like this.
