My biggest advice for you is to do some wolf studies! Also I think tracing over a photograph is fine, just make sure to keep it to yourself xD! The first thing you could change are the eyes I think! That's the only really cartoonish thing that stands out! My style isn't too realistic but hopefully this helps x3

@Accultist That looks wonderful already! I probably won't be too much help cause I really don't see much wrong! xD  I drew a hyena like once lol If anything raise the butt a bit and enunciate the shoulders? x3 Those two areas are also very round! Also a design choice but hyenas have a very skinny neck- so making it not as floofy could help the hybrid idea! It'd look fine either way! :D Good luck! |

And my expression. It wasn't my intention to make him look sad, but look more "aggressive"?? The eyesss sob.. |
