So, a bit of back-story, Tuesday i went with my mother's husband to play pickleball after he got off work (mind you i live in texas, and it was about 102 degrees outside, he works in about 150 degree heat at work) and we started playing, and all was good at first, but as we kept going i felt way too hot, and completely out of breath. i kept having to pause to catch my breath, and he was getting agitated. fastworward about 30 minutes in, he starts yelling at me to hustle, threating that if i didnt we were going to run all the way around the court for the next 30 minutes. (p.s, we ran around the entire court once before because i didnt get to my corner fast enough, he uses running as a punnishment for me.) Then started shouting at me that he couldnt believe i wasnt hustling when HE works 8 hour days and decides to get off work and come play pickleball with me, but im not even putting in any effort and im just basically being ungrateful. on our next break i gently touched my neck because my throat has been sore lately (flash back, i had surgery november first of 2025 to get my tonsiles removed, and ever since then ive been having phantom pains like they just got removed, but they didnt X-X) and when he asked what was wrong, and i tried explaining that, he shut me up, saying thats not an excuse, that its all in my head, that i need to get over myself because they arent there anymore. he then continued to push me way to hard, where i couldnt breath and was overheating, i had to pause mid-game to control my breathing because i was getting tunnel vision, he then snapped and made me pack up, then starting saying that there was no way im doing an ACTUAL workout each day (im supposed to have 1 hour of outside time each day) if a "fat guy like me can outlast/has more stamina than YOU". and sarcastically said "but congradulations, at least you retained SOMETHING from when we last played. (it had also been several months since we last played) and hasnt let go of basically letting me know that im not in shape enough. so tell me ya'll, AITA? please explain your awnsers!!!
