take something you like and work off of it

or takea few things make a design with those then fill in the extra spaces

well, pointy ears are my weakness...I just love them. non-elf characters of mine get them too.

and I think half of my characters have dyed hair. I think most of them are off-site though

i hate "insane asylum" RPs and OCs,, and basically anyone throwing around Insane Asylum as a way to be edgey or "lol i'm so quirky"

I had a character that was literally from an RP I made where all characters were based on songs. He was based on "Fight the Power" and I loved him. I also have one based on "Fame" by David Bowie, but I never got to play him. Basing characters off of songs is fun, but I've only ever done it when that was explicitly part of the RP.
