I was just wondering if a wolf only gains battle experience if they make the kill? Or do they just have to be there?

Hunting in explore? Yes. Any killing blow dealt to an animal in explore gives 1 BE to whoever did it. PvP is the same way.

If there's another Hunting I'm not sure what you mean if you want to explain ^^
