Positive is best. ItÂ’s a combat boost/hinderance. Pretty sure it affects damage done.

The "weather traits" are called vitals. A positive number will increase your wolf's attack damage in explore when there is a natural disaster for the weather, and a negative number will decrease attack damage.
Positive numbers is generally considered better. A wolf with all positive vitals is called a "hero", and are usually worth more than non-hero wolves. A pup's vitals are inherited from the parents. Edited at August 24, 2018 08:36 PM by Stardust Crusaders

These are called Vitals. Generally, it is better for the numbers to be positive - they allow the wolf to hit harder when a special weather condition is happening (you can tell if one is happening by checking the tab that displays your mush and apple count, current season, etc.). For example, if your wolf usually hits for 32 damage and has +3 for its Flood Vitals, if you take it exploring during a Flood it will hit for 35 instead. Let's say this same wolf has -2 Earthquake Vitals; if you take it exploring while an Earthquake is happening, it will hit for 30 damage instead.
A wolf with all positive Vitals (0s don't count) is called a 'hero' wolf.

To add on:
Heroes are all positives, 0s do not count as positive, for example, +3\+2\+1\+3
Neutral wolves have a mix, which may include 0s for example +0\+3\-2\-4
And cowards, also called villains, are all negative, example, -3\-2\-5\-1
Vitals are inheritable, for example if you have 2 hero parents, then you are likely to get a hero pup, and vice versa. Edited at August 24, 2018 09:32 PM by Inferos
