I wanted to try to do digital art and I wanted to know what are some of the things that I could use to do it.

Sketchbook Autodesk Pro is an amazing program, but it is severely underrated. There are so many things you can do with the main brushes that come installed, and then there are a lot more you can download, which all sums up to around 100 brush sets. And yes, it is all free!

I highly suggest Krita! It's a great free program and I've even met people who compare it to Photoshop :>
