Buy/Selling/Breeding:

| CP | character points | Used to strengthen various wolf attributes to aid in explore and battle. |
| CL, CH | Clean-lined, clean-heritage | No inbreeding or duplicate bloodlines involved. |
| IB | inbred | Happens when a wolf shows up more than once in its bloodline. No effect on gameplay, defect, or boost chance. |
| T | Talents | increases the base amount of CP a wolf has by 20. Inheritable. 12T = wolf has a total 12 talents. Can be stacked indeterminately |
| G | Generation | 1G = first generation, 2G = second generation, etc. |
| mush | Mushrooms | The prime currency of Wolfplay and used in almost all transactions. |
| R, RS | Rarity, Rarity Score | Higher rarities are made with various combinations of pelts and markings. |
| Dud | undesirable wolves. Standards vary between each user. Often rated using rarity, talent count, boost, or defect. | |
| Hero | wolf's capability in a disaster. Rating is visible in the "Vitals" section at the bottom of a wolf's page. Having all "+" makes the wolf a hero. | |
| BW | Battle Wolf | a wolf with excellent potential for battle. Is usually defined as: weight approximately 130 lbs, has hero status, and with possible gains in battle experience. |
| BE | Battle Experience | Gaining BE teaches it more battle moves. |
| HW | Heavyweight | Heavier wolves hit harder, but evade attacks less. |
| LW | Lightweight | Wolves will hit weaker, but evade attacks better. |
| ExH | Excellent Howler | Used for the Full Moon Celebration to determine strength in howling contests. Inheritable. |
| ExW | Excellent Wrestler | A stat used for the Full Moon Celebration to determine strength in wrestling contests. Inheritable. |
| AC | All Common | Eyes, nose, and base pelt are all common rarity. UC means uncommon. |
| POL | Pick of litter. | Usually the highest quality pup in the litter, or whichever one you want. |
| OBO | Or best offer. | Lets buyer know you are open for offers different than the sale price. |
Auction Terms:

| SB | Starting Bid | The price the seller begins the auction at. |
| MI | Minimum Increase | The minimum price increase from the previous bid. EG: MI is 5 mush. Previous bid is 10 mush. Next bidder would have to bid at least 10+5 mush (total 15 mush) for the bid to be accepted. |
| CB, HB | Current bid, highest bid | Current highest bid on the auction. |
| AB | Autobuy | Instead of bidding, you can buy out the auctioned item if you have all funds available. |
Defects:

| BP | Black Phase | Pelt turns white over time. |
| Mel, Mela | melanism | Pelt turns dark, almost black. |
| Ery | erythrism | Pelt turns golden brown |
| Viti | vitiligo | Pelt gradually loses its color, giving wolf a splotchy appearance. Multiple variations. |
| Leu, Leuc | leucism | Pelt is pale yellow, almost sickly looking. |
| Chi, chim | chimerism | Half the wolf has an entirely different base pelt. Multiple variations. |
***Note that any terms like "albino blood" or "mela blood" simply refer to the heritage of the wolf. WP wolves inherit traits only from the parents and grandparents, but any further back in the ancestry of a wolf still will not be able to pass defects/boosts on to further generations.
Boosts:
(a wolf with an increased CP cap. Instead of having a 200 CP cap, the wolf gets a 250 CP cap on a specific stat instead)
