Quest Level 16

Defeat 100 Squirrels in battle. (forest)

Completed: 49/100

➔ 300 Mushrooms 2 Party On!

Quest Level 20

Level up a wolf's Battle Skills.

Completed: 9/25

➔ 250 Mushrooms 4 Party On! 1 Warrior

I made the blush wing one. (After some difficulty)

So all I'd have to do realistically is just turn them brown. If I don't decide to try and redo some of the poses.

Hi everyone, maybe this text has caught your attention, at least once:

"Lightbringers will have a battle boost during the day.
Darkseekers will have a battle boost during the night.
Neutral Packs will have a slight battle boost at all times."

Remember those old days when you were creating your Wolf Play account and you were going to choose your faction? Yes you probably will remember that message popped up there in that time.

Well here is this post to acclarate what this means. Let's go!

Wolves can earn battle experience by killing prey/enemies in explore, or defeating wolf in Pack vs Pack (PvP)
Each time your wolf reach a certain amount of battle experience (BE),usually each 25 BE, they will learn a new move.
There is a list of all the moves a wolf can earn: https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=29&t=1171

Now in that linked post you will notice there is a "Notable Moves" section:

1st Notable Move: Slashing Bite (Off +11)
2nd Notable Move: Neck Snap (Off +21)

These "Notable Moves" make your wolves deal an additional +2 damage ,in explore and PvP, when reaching the required BE.
For explore it will always be like that. But in PvP there would be little changes.

In PvP the point where the wolf is able to deal additional damage is affected by the moment of the day and the faction you chose:

Getting a "battle boost" means your wolf is able to deal the additional +2 damage earlier than when reaching the "Notable Moves"(Slashing Bite and Neck Snap)

NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY GET "BATTLE BOOSTS" WHEN BATTLING OTHER PACKS, NOT WHEN EXPLORING.

"Lightbringers will have a battle boost during the day.
Darkseekers will have a battle boost during the night."

Wolves are able to deal additional +2 damage when reaching Strangle Hold (Off +6) and Hind Paw Slam (Off +16) During the right time (day for lightbringers and night for darkseekers).

When you're not getting the boost it will just apply the standard increment points (Slashing Bite and Neck Snap)

"Neutral Packs will have a slight battle boost at all times."

Wolves are able to deal additional +2 damage when reaching Jugular (Off +9) and Neck Snap (Off +21) moves. During all times, day and night.

Yes, the second point doesn't change, it's probably because there are two defense moves before neck snap (the same gap between Jugular and Slashing Bite moves) and to compensate the advantage of getting the first boost (which I consider more important, reasons will be explained later) during all times.

Why do I consider the first boost more important than the second?

Because it makes the difference between defeating a wolf in less moves.

Let me explain:

The base damage for a wolf (with filled battle) in PvP is 23HP.
Your wolf deal 23HP damage when you attack another wolf with the default moves: Bite (Off+1), Claw (Off +1) and Pounce (Off +1)

NOTE: that doesn't apply for Crushing Strenght and Elite Speed wolves, who deal max damage (27 HP damage)) without needing any battle experience.

NOTE: Weight doesn't matter in PvP, unlike it does in explore. Wolves deal the same damage in PvP regardless of their weight.

Assuming the wolves are full healed. And n
It means, at the beginning your wolf can defeat another wolf in 5 moves ( 5 x 23 = 115 HP >100 HP) and if the opponent is a Divine Health wolf (the guide for boosts is here! https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=29&t=102) you need 7 moves ( 7 x 23 = 161 HP > 150 HP )

When getting the first battle boost your wolf can deal 25HP damage, which means:

Your wolf can defeat another wolf in 4 moves ( 4 x 25 = 100 HP) and if the opponent is a Divine Health wolf you need 6 moves (6 x 25 = 150 HP).

So let's put examples (you can skip that part):

a) A lightbringer and a darkseeker are battling and the battle is limited to wolves with less than 200 BE. The wolves they're using are non divine health and have 140 BE and time is night: it means the lightbringer wolf doesn't get the boost and can only deal 23HP damage and will defeat their opponent in 5 moves, while the darkseeker wolf gets the boost and deals 25 HP damage if they attack with their highest move learned (Strange Hold in the case), and will defeat their enemy in only 4 moves.

b) A neutral and a darkseeker are battling and the battle is limited to wolves with less than 350 BE. The wolves they're using are Divine Health and have 240 BE and time is day: it means the darkseeker wolf doesn't get the boost can only deal 23HP damage and will defeat their opponent in 7 moves, while the neutral wolf get the permanent slight battle boost, deals 25 HP damage if they attack with their highest move learned (Jugular in the case), and will defeat their enemy in only 6 moves.

Having battle specialization (specializations are a premium feature) makes your wolf learn moves with less BE than the default required (from 1 to 5 moves earlier): Example: a wolf with 0 BE in a pack with battle specialization at max level, can attack with Strange Hold (Off +6) move. This could bring some extra advantage. Let's continue with an example

c) A lightbringer and a neutral are battling and the battle is limited to wolves with less than 25 BE. The wolves they're using are non divine health and have 10 BE and time is day. Both packs are premium and have the battle specialization at max level: it means the neutral wolf doesn't get the boost can only deal 23HP damage and will defeat their opponent in 5 moves, while the lightbringer wolf get the battle boost, deals 25 HP damage if they attack with their highest move learned (Strange Hold in the case), and will defeat their enemy in only 4 moves.

When getting the second battle boost your wolf can deal 27HP damage, it doesn't change the amount of hits you need to defeat a wolf if you compare it with the damage of the first battle boost (25 HP), so it remains 4 moves for non-DivineHealth wolves and 6 moves for DivineHealth wolves (unless you manage to hit critically twice during a PvP, event which chances are very rare). Wolves have more chance to hit critically when their BE is higher (it doesn't apply after the wolf has reached the highest battle move: Death Grip), so training your wolf to Death Grip is not useless at all, let your wolf get that deadly move!!

Hopefully this guide is useful for you. Thanks for reading!

Thank you so much for the help. I now have better information on when to PvP and what moves to use to get the boost.
