Plot
Magic isn’t rare. What is rare? Witches born so powerful they wreck the whole damn system just by existing. Happens once in a generation. Someone shows up, flips their coven on its head, and the world just adjusts. Because it has to. Witches aren’t just little cottage-core groups stirring herbs and drama in the woods. They’re organized. Hierarchical. You've got your tiny local covens at the bottom, your mid-tier covens acting like bosses, and then the High Council. The top of the pyramid, where the real power settles. That’s where the big one always ends up. The one.

Except this time? There’s no one. There’s six.

No one knows why it happened, some say the last witch cracked the veil too wide when she died, some say fate just got bored, but her power split, clean down the middle, and scattered itself into six people born at the exact same time across the globe. Not siblings. Not friends. Just chaos in six separate skins.

They got dragged out of their little covens fast, yanked into the ruling one like living walking disasters on a leash. Now? They’ve all got equal claim to leadership. And half of them are calm, collected, white-magic types who want to talk it out and play by the book. The other half? Yeah, no. They’re volatile, sharp-edged, and barely pretending to play nice. They didn’t come here to negotiate. They came here to win.

The coven’s already cracking. Politics, infighting, rival covens sniffing weakness, it’s all piling up, and no one’s really in control. Everyone’s waiting to see which way the scales tip, who makes the first real move.

Oh, and those cracks in the ground that open up every time a powerful witch dies? Still happening. Except this time, they’re worse. Deeper. Hungrier. Like the world’s still trying to balance something and can’t figure out how.

Magic here’s elemental, yeah, but it twists. You might have earth but channel it through bones. Fire that plays like light. Music that cuts like air. Blood magic? Exists. It’s rare, illegal, and real useful if you don’t care about the rules. Some of the six might have dual affinities. Some might not even know yet. Doesn’t matter, they’re dangerous either way.

Everyone gets a familiar. Some tiny and clever. They're more than pets, they’re advisors, watchers, and the only ones who can really call their witch out without losing a limb. Half of them probably have more brains than their witch does. Maybe more loyalty, too.

Point is, this isn’t a story about balance. It’s a story about what happens when power gets split too many ways, when the lines between good and bad blur, and when six young adults are expected to rule something they barely understand.

Rules? They came pre-broken.

Rules
1. Eve's rules should obviously already be followed. If you haven't read the rules, you should've but here's a free link → Clicky
⊹☽⊹
2. You can have up to 2 characters, max. You do not need to have more than one character though, so no pressure to do more than you can handle. If your character is going to be one of the rare humans, please PM me first to reserve that role or add it to your reservation when you ask for one. Thanks!
⊹☽⊹
3. Reservations will last 48 hours, you can get a 12 hour extension if you PM me, though. If I've forgotten to unmark a reservation past 48 hours, feel free to try and take that spot! You don't need a reservation to submit a character, first come first serve situation. However, I prefer you reserve a slot first. Just makes it easier for me <3
⊹☽⊹
4. Please mark your character sheet with WIP until it's absolutely finished. I won't accept anything until I'm told it's done, but I can give out a few pointers before you're finished so don't be shy to ask questions. I've had trouble understanding if someone was actually done before or still working, so please make sure you make it clear you're done for the final judgement when you come to me for that.
Please PM me once you're done and ready.
⊹☽⊹
5. LGBTQ+ is welcome here. If you don't like that, you shouldn't try to join. Along with this, if you become problematic in any way I will get a mod.
⊹☽⊹
6. I'm the host. This means ultimately everything is up to me. But, I do love world building together so absolutely come to me with ideas! Just run it by me first before doing something crazy lol
⊹☽⊹
7. Please reserve your own spot, if making a reservation. I won't accept things like "My __ wants to join so can you save a spot for them?" Nope, they can reserve a spot themselves and if they haven't even joined the game yet, well they have to do that first.
⊹☽⊹
8. Have fun! Please include the word Anarchy or Scabiosa in your 'Other' section so I know you've read the rules.

The Covenant are the “good” side: white magic, yang aligned, more likely to follow the rules. But lines blur. Covenant witches still dip into grey. Hollow leans dark, yin, black magic, maybe even the illegal kind, but they’re not all villains. It’s not about what you use. It’s how you use it.

Finished
Name: Oleander Copeland
Nicknames: Oli or Ole
Name Pronunciation: Phonetically/how you'd think
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Aromantic asexual
Age: 25
Familiar: Selene, a small, wise Eastern Copperhead with a penchent for sublety that Oleander has always sorely needed. They've known each other since their respective cradles, and as such one often acts as an extension of the other.
-
Appearance: Oleander has the kind of face that tends to put people at ease. Boasting wide brown eyes reminiscent of a doe's, framed with similarly long lashes and bracketed with light freckles, she tends to look open and guileless even to those she knows well. It is a face made for smiling, with broad lips of a medium thickness and a wide, heart-shaped face. Atop this is hair the color of pitch, always coiled into ringlets, often pulled back into practical buns or ponytails.
Physically, she's of a medium height and powerfully built, clearly a woman who has spent most of her life working outdoors, which she has. Her skin is the tan of a woman who is naturally quite pale. She carries much of her height in her legs, which are long enough to make her look almost gangly, a feature she tends to accentuate with cutoff jeans and sundreses, two aritcles of clothing which make up most of her wardrobe. More rarely, you might see Oleander in worn jeans and protective men's shirts, especially when she's working. She's quite pear-shaped, despite her relatively broad shoulder, and her figure alone turns no heads, although she has a sweet, girl-next-door visage that sometimes pulls the eye.
Oleander is not one for ornamentation, and avoids all manner of jewelery, with the exception of a well-worn silver band which has been handed down through her maternal line for many generations. It is dainty and set with a small citrine. This ring is her most prized possession, though she feels a bit of a fraud for wearing it, and she often finds herself twisting it when lost in thought or puzzling out a problem.
Personality: On meeting Oleander, people often find her to be a sweet, convivial young woman. Perhaps a little backwater, but well-meaning. Remain in her company for long and you will find that this is a well-cultivated ruse. In truth, Oleander is a viciously smart witch with very little patience for anyone or anything that does not benefit her. She is the very definition of Southern Class; smiling in your face and then, in private, showing you the back of her hand with incredible grace and ease. Above all else, Ole desires nothing more than the power to make certain her own comfort and solitude.
Oleander was raised by a very old-school herbalist coven deep in the Appalachian mountains, the kind that works up magic primarily to change the weather and grow crops. Quickly, she surpassed their skills, and as such is mostly self taught. As if to mirror her family, her natural workings show themselves as manipulation of the natural world. The sky darkens with her mood, and plants wither where she steps. Curiously, performing the reverse sucks the marrow from her bones until they break, a state which was the impetus for her reluctant turn towards black magic, which allows her to maintain greater control over her body, and thus, her magic. The nature of her upbringing and her magic leaves her a hot-tempered and manic sort-something which she barely keeps under wraps at the best of times. Her desire for power is less a desire for leadership and more a desire to have nobody to answer to. This is perhaps exacerbated by her new cohort, all of whom she finds to be more moneyed, better trained, and more powerful than herself.
Voice & Accent: Low and rich, with a heavy American Appalachian drawl
-
Strengths: Manipulative | Intelligent | Prodigious herbalist in addition to her powers | Moves nearly silently | Makes friends easily | Can-do attitude
Weaknesses: Hot tempered and often reckless | Deeply insecure | Loses friends easily | Poor in large social settings | Prone to physical injury (weak boned) | Highly suspicious | Chronic insomniac
Affiliations: Open
Other: Anarchy
