Appearance:

A moderately sized brute standing at about 28" at the shoulder, with a frame that isn't lean but not too stocky either. He has coarse, bristly fur with a soft undercoat beneath that he sheds every spring, making him look bigger du to the wiry guard hairs clinging to the additional fluff. He's got a wide nose bridge and small front paws that help him balance but make it difficult for him to dig.

Personality: Even as a pup, Altair never really expressed the leadership qualities expected of someone destined for a high rank. He was clumsy on his feet, just predictable and unassuming. He's difficult to anger and not very assertive in nature. However his level-headed manner and his resilient desire to stick to logic and sense rather than brute strength made him a solid canditiate to look after his pack. He still isn't the bravest and he's certainly not charming or inspirational like a leader should be, but he puts up a good mask and plays the stern beta when it is needed.
