Appearance: This tall and thin male stands at 6 feet even, with narrow shoulders and hips that exacerbate his already slender form. His body type could be described as lanky, with long, almost gangly limbs and a shorter torso. He is bony, with knobby knees and elbows; what little muscle he has falls more under the category of wiry than lithe. Alistair is ambidextrous, with callused palms and elongated, nimble fingers. His nails are always short, gnawed or torn down to the quick, as Alistair tends to pick at them when he's nervous or bored. No matter how much time Alistair spends outside, his skin remains a fragile porcelain with cool bluish undertones. For the most part his skin is unmarred, but there are a few scars from acne on his face as well as a couple miscellaneous scars on his back and legs from childhood accidents.
Alistair's face is diamond shaped, long and angular like the rest of him. His cheekbones are defined through gauntness rather than genetics, and his nose is slightly snubbed. Alistair's mouth is small and his pink-quartz colored lips are thin and perpetually frowning. He has a bit of a resting bitch face, but tends to frown more out of seriousness than sadness. Alistair prefers to be clean shaven at all times, as his beard always grows in rather patchy on the left side. When it comes to his eyes, Alistair has partial heterochromia. His left eye is completely green, a dark forest shade, while the outer third of his right eye is a pale brown. His eyebrows are sparse and thin, with little to no arch. They are the same color as his hair, coal-black and matte rather than shiny. Speaking of his hair, Alistair prefers to keep his short and neat, a style which could be described as an outgrown buzzcut.
Generally, Alistair prefers to keep a low profile when out and about, meaning he usually walks with his head down and his shoulders pulled in towards his chest. His voice is on the higher end for a man, but not high enough to be considered effeminate. Finally, while it's rare anyone would get close enough to catch a whiff, Alistair typically smells like a mountain, all fresh fallen snow and pine needles.

Alistair could best be described as a loner. He doesn't make friends easily, and he prefers it that way if he's being honest. Mostly, this is because of his big heart. Alistair knows what it is to care for someone deeply, and he knows how much it hurts when that person inevitably gets taken from you. So he thinks it's better to close himself off, that simple survival is all that is worth working for. With those that have managed to get past his walls, he's extremely kind and compassionate. He is also incredibly loyal, and can be uncharacteristically brave and determined when the safety of his loved ones is on the line. Alistair can't stand to see any creature in pain, which is why he prefers to use traps that kill instantly, impersonally, rather than weapons that would have him deal the final blow himself. His mechanical skills extend beyond just traps however, and Alistair is quite skilled at making wind-up type toys and odd gadgets that make life easier in small ways. He gets along well with kids, as his honesty and literalism are usually very in line with their own modes of communication. Alistair is also very patient, a skill honed during long days spent hunting or walking through marketplaces looking for shops he might be able to steal from. Alistair normally has a strong sense of fairness and justice, and it is desperation that drives him to go against his own moral code. Additionally, Alistair is not assertive or aggressive at all and will usually back down immediately at even the hint of conflict. Thus he is easily pressured into doing things he otherwise wouldn't, which is partly how he ended up being a mentor figure for the other riders, despite his lack of leadership skills or any desire for the role.

Strengths:
-Despite his height, he's actually pretty good at being innocuous, as well as being naturally quiet. This makes him a decent thief, more in the sense of burglary than sleight of hand however.
-Tracking, humans and animals alike.
-Climbing, whether it's trees, cliffs, or buildings.
-Trap building, he's surprisingly mechanically-minded.

-No combat experience.
-He has a weak immune system and gets sick relatively frequently.
-Passive, he's more doormat than leader material.
-Ophidiophobia, he's extremely afraid of snakes.

*Backstory: Alistair's childhood was happy enough. His family wasn't wealthy by any means, but they did well enough for themselves and Alistair always went to sleep with a full belly in a warm bed. Then when he was around 12, his father lost his job in the mines of Keta and turned to gambling to supplement his lost income. His debts caught up with him, and the family was forced to flee to LaFord. There Alistair's father fell to drinking, while his mother died in childbirth. Alistair did his best to help out where he could, hunting small game in the forest and making a little money working odd jobs and fixing the occasional tool or making some craft or invention. But his father's debtors caught up to him once again, and beat Alistair's father to death. They then turned to Alistair, and demanded that he repay them for the rest of the money owed, which drove the desperate Alistair to begin thieving as well as engaging in his other methods of income. So it was that Alistair was in the woods one day, trying to earn money through hunting when he found Fathom, trapped and alone. He rescued the dragon, and knew that the rebellion was the only hope the two of them had of surviving their pasts.
