Appearance: River is 5'6 and has black hair which is just above their shoulders and is usually shown brushed back but it could change regulary. Their skin is quite pale and never tanned always burned. He usually dresses in dark clothes and finds bright clothes to stand out more and well he doesn't really want to be noticed that often. River usually has a leather jacket on but can dress more formal if need be. They are usually quite masc presenting but do show their feminine side depending on what people deem as feminine, masculine etc. Background: River had never really left his home town fully. They went to school in the same place had a few friends but had wanted to see what else the world had to offer. They had always liked music and had even made an informal band (which was just messing around with friends.) Growing up their early days were good they were a happy child but somewhere in their teens it changed almost like he realised no one else was looking out for himself apart from his family but even then it didn't feel like it. River had a part time job working at a bar and managed to secure a place at a pretty expensive one after meeting a few people on nights out so they knew how to dress appropiately for big events. Reason For Visiting Mayfield: River was actually on their way to a city to look for a job when he saw a sign barely readable in a hedge showing directions to Mayfield. He thought why not maybe a small town needed entertainment and maybe a stop before entering busy streets of a city. He Would Be Best Termed As Pansexual ; No PreferenceAppearance: There is just something tragically beautiful about this young man . His face is rather soft and unassuming , with what can be described as a heart shaped structure . And he has just the slightest sharpness to his jawline - these combined features give him a rather boyish appearance ( even though he is a young man ) . It also gives the illusion of a soft and gentle nature ( which he is far from ) - and it can be used to his advantage , because it can give the impression of his innocence and others wouldn't suspect him . As for his nose, it bears a low yet wide nose bridge - with widened nostrils that are usually flared in annoyance at someone . As for the tip of his nose, it's rounded and bulbous - soft to the touch with a slight thickness to it. It's always interesting to see it scrunch up in distaste at the smell or sight of something unpleasant, or wrinkle in confusion . As for his lips, they can be described as full and voluminous - yet there's a subtle softness to them with the upper lip being slightly rounded to the point it gives him an elegant appearance. And it also gives him a naturally pouty look that just overall adds to his charm . As for his lip color, they can be described as a soft, peachy-orange coloration with just the slightest undertone of coral to them. As for his expressions, he usually has a more gloomy and apathetic appearance on his face - he rarely if ever genuinely smiles, and when he does it's those gentle and quiet smiles that causes one to pause and look at it because it's so rare . His smiles are the more practiced ones, the polite and elegant smiles that you see in high society - the ones that by the slightest micro-expression can make or ruin you . He never smiles with his teeth, his expression is always controlled and measure - the only reason to show his teeth is in a mocking laugh . When it comes to his eyes, most would agree that he has a gaze rivaling the mythical siren, he has sharp almond shaped eyes with upturned outer corners - giving him a sharp, almost feline appearance. His gaze is piercing and hypnotic, able to command the attention of a room and unsettle someone with just a spare glance . As for the color of his eyes ? They are a stunning and rather rare tone of grey hazel , with his eyes being devoid of pigment giving them the grayish tone , and yet if one were to carefully look into them - one could see the hints of pale blue and slightest tinge of green . Under ambient lighting his eyes seem to shift like a chameleon, taking on different colors - some days he looks like he has blue eyes, other days green or just his natural gray . But he also knows how to use them as a weapon, how the way his eyelids cut into his iris gives him a more naturally seductive appearance. Or how he can use it to charm others or for tactics of intimidation as well . Over all his eyes carry the mysterious power he wants them to hold, something rare and beautiful - yet , unattainable. When it comes to skin tone , his skin can be described as a beautiful warm copper-toned complexion . Under sunlight he seems to glow with a lovely golden undertone ; that in the summer months seems to be enhanced by a tan (as he tans rather easily and well) . Most say he looks expensive, as if he should be put on display for being such a 'pretty thing' to look at . Now though he tans well, he isn't a fool when it comes to skin care - he uses sun protection as much as he can and always hydrates and takes care of his skin. He has little to no pores, so when it comes to blemishes and ache - his skin doesn't get them very often unless it's stress or sugar intake. Overall, most would describe him skin as like that of a porcelain doll - with a slight semi-translucent hue, a radiant almost dewy finish and distinctive doll-like, ethereal softness and beauty . It's enhanced by the beauty marks he has ; he has seven total on his face , one on the corner of his chin - two under his right eye and one on the corner of his left. With one being on his nose, and the last two - one is on the left corner of his lip, and one right on the bottom of his lip. As for the other beauty marks, they're dotted along his body from his neck, chest, legs and shoulders. His skin is also soft and well-maintained , he always takes the time to use lotion and other products to take care of his skin and keep it glowing and moisturized . He also can be said to have a rather distinctive scent ; the scent of hyacinth flowers, their rather heavy, rich and sweet scent of honey, vanilla and warm spices - the fragrance of springtime and romance itself. As for his hair , the young man has luscious locks that would make most women jealous upon seeing . The color of his hair can be well described as hyacinthine ; the state of when one's hair is so black it mimics the illusion of it being violet , and not to mention the voluminous curls he bears . The curls being soft and delicate, and they blow easily in the wind reminiscent of the blooming petals of the hyacinth flower . His hair is thick and full , and his crown of hair rests at his shoulders in the front and right around his hips in the back - though his hair is high maintenance, he does well to keep his hair silky , and it having a beautiful sheen to it when observed under sunlight. His hair is rather fragrant , never will you catch a bad smell coming from him or his hair ( it's repugnant ) - to mix with the floral smell he exhibits, he adds notes of sweet orange - the fresh citrus citrus smell giving a welcomed contrast to the warm spices whilst also their are underlying hints of jasmine which gives an elegant, creamy and velvety warmth . He almost always wears his hair down, or either tied back by a simple leather strap - only when he's going to important places does he take the time to pin his hair up . He likes to adorn his hair with pearls and sea glass at times , things that make it even more beautiful. Because why shouldn't he make himself more beautiful and appealing to the eyes ? As for his stature , this young man can be described as being of rather - average height, standing in about 5'7 in height . It can be said that he's teased by taller companions about his stature which leads much to his frustration. And yet, it's also convenient at times and he can use it to his advantage. One can see the elegance in his gait ; he carries himself like a person of high birth, with his head held high and measured and polished steps , ones never too loud or too little - just ones that carry his presence. It's also noticeable that his motions are always fluid and graceful, never lacking in beauty - these quiet and gentle mannerisms have been pressed into his brain, from the way he holds a tea set to the way he articulates himself. Now when it comes to matters of the heart this young man is quite interesting. When he falls in love, he falls hard for his chosen partner. His partner is one of the rare ones to receive his affections and love - he's the type to shower them with gifts and other precious things. He also enjoys being with them and in their space ─ he also likes of 'borrow' clothing articles of theirs for extended times to wear especially if it's bigger on him. He is rather possessive and a bit of a jealous creature when it comes fo his lover, he tolerates no rivals and definitely doesn't appreciate anyone flirting with them. They are his partner, no one else's and he will defend that title with honor and pride ─ unless him and his partner had discussed a previous arrangement that involves multiple partners then they shall be no other rivals. To flirt, or even look at his partner in a lustful manner is an insult. He's one to blatantly go up to them and kiss them or cling to them in a subtle manner to fend off the thirsty vultures. No one can tell why he is like this with his partners, but maybe it's due to abandonment issues : he fears that they'll leave him for the next pretty face and that he got too attached to someone again and they left him. So his partner will need to understand his jealousy and possessiveness comes not out of a place of malice and distrust but from a place of fear. When it comes to work and projects ─ it's safe to say this young man is a workaholic. This young man can use his charisma for wrong if he chose to do so - able to play with the minds of others, able to persuade others to his cause or ideas, or even cause your downfall just because you pissed him off. Careful of his pretty face because he's a pretty poison in disguise ; his honied words can entrap you and he and weave words so sweet that'll leave one reeling. Or he can use those eye of his to persuade you along, he can be so convincing when he pouts . He's a person you don't want as an enemy ─ his cunning is show by him being steps ahead of others. Always scheming, planing, and plotting in that pretty head of his once you've become his target. He's likely able to outwit and outmaneuver others when it comes to strategy and things that require logic and brain. Now he's deceptive as well, no one can tell his true intentions and he likes to keep it that way ─ who is he loyal to? what allegiance does hold? is he my enemy or ally? She loves a good laugh and a dose of chaos here and there, but she values the quiet tranquility she always had at her grandparents’ house. She spends a lot of time in thought, considering her stories contemplating her next words in a conversation. She is imaginary and clever thanks in part to all of the time she’s spent on her stories. She has a wealth of random knowledge from her research. Another trait she attributes to her writing aspirations is her farsightedness. One must always consider the ripple effect an action will have, which is true both in fiction and reality. She’s a bright, sunny person, her face nearly always bearing a smile. She’s very sincere and kindhearted in her actions. Both of these facets to her personality tend to endear her to others rather quickly. With all the time she’s spent at her grandparents’ house, she’s been there for some of their health scares. She’s found that she’s quite calm and competent in the middle of an emergency, but will absolutely break down afterwards. For all her positive traits, however, Dahlia most certainly has her flaws. For one thing, she’s a chronic people-pleaser. It’s like she’s terrified of letting others down. She hates it, but at this point it’s really hard not to care. In addition, she can be a bit childish at times. Sometimes it’s more endearing... sometimes, but not usually. For all that she prides herself on her farsightedness and cleverness, she’s gullible. She tries not to be, but she is. Something she hasn’t considered before is that she knows absolutely no fancy party etiquette. She’s floundering in the manor, but it’s fine, she’s fine, everything will absolutely be fine, right? Appearance: Dahlia Whittle stands at 5' 4". Her arms are muscular, toned through years of climbing every tree in sight and shooting bows. Her legs, however, are absolutely not. They're still strong, but not in a "Behold! I have been working out like crazy!" sort of way. No, she has a desk job right now. She tries to write books. She doesn't go for runs nearly as often as she tries for another bullseye. She has tanned skin and fiery red hair that curls around her shoulders and makes a constant, valiant effort to get in her face. For this reason, she usually keeps it pulled back into a high ponytail, or a bun if she’s feeling fancy. This does not stop her bangs from their attacks on her field of vision. Her cheeks are covered in freckles. She has a bright smile on her face near constantly. Occasionally, she’ll put bright clips (majority green) in her frankly unruly hair. Over her amber eyes, she wears large, round glasses with thin, dark green frames and a chain of golden yellow beads. Her clothing mainly consists of the cottagecore aesthetic. She loves earthy tones. On more casual days, one can find Dahlia dressed in brown overalls, green sundresses, or T-shirts with mushrooms on them. However, since this is a fancier occasion, she’s had to go out and buy something that fits “fancy banquet” a bit better than grass-stained overalls. As such, she has acquired a dark turquoise dress. It’s floor length, which she has since decided she actually hates, but it’s fine, she’ll deal with it. One aspect of the dress she does love, however, is its ruffles. It isn’t very ruffly, but it's got some, and she quite likes subtly fiddling with the flowy fabric. The dress has short sleeves, so Dahlia’s paired the dress with a pair of turquoise gloves she managed to find. Does this dress fit with her aesthetic? No. For shoes, she absolutely adores boots and was luckily able to find a pretty nice pair that fit well with the dress, even if they weren’t necessarily meant to be worn to such an event. She despises heels. They can be thrown in a ditch for all she cares. She would not be caught dead in a pair. Like anyone else, Dahlia’s skin bears a few marks that tell of her life. On her right shoulder is a tattoo of an oriental dragon. It’s small and usually covered by her usual clothing. However, in her dark dress, it’s easily spotted with just a glance. The sleeves are like that of a tank top, after all. On her right cheek is a faded scar she got from falling out of a tree at her grandparents’ house. It’s hardly noticeable. She only has one other scar, and it’s a vertical line on her left wrist. It’s from a pencil. She managed to accidently scratch herself. With a pencil. Why that of all things scarred is beyond her. In terms of accessories, Dahlia has her hairclips and glasses, as earlier mentioned. In addition to these, she wears a silver necklace she got as a gift from a friend back in her early college days. It’s a simple necklace, just a thin chain with a square pendant engraved with nothing more than the letter “F”. Upon closer inspection, one can see that it is in fact a locket. It opens to reveal a picture of Dahlia and a shorter woman with straight black hair. The two are laughing. Dahlia smiles when she sees the picture. The locket stays safely tucked away under whatever she’s wearing. Her ears are pierced, but she doesn’t often wear earrings. However, for this special occasion, she’s wearing turquoise dangling earrings. Background: Dahlia did not in fact grow up in Mayfield, but she did spend a lot of time there. Her grandparents lived there, and she visited them regularly, a few times a year, in fact. Her grandparents’ house was always her favorite place. It had a large backyard filled with all sorts of plants. Birds, butterflies and bees were all common sights in the yard. Whenever she and her parents visited, she would help her grandmother with the garden or go birdwatching with her grandfather. The visits slowed as she grew up. Her life got busy. Her grandparents’ health began a slow decline. The visits would have stopped entirely after her grandmother’s death if it wasn’t for the fact Dahlia had a car. Her parents couldn’t bring themselves to visit. It made Dahlia furious, and thus began her first stay in Mayfield that lasted longer than a week. Soon enough, she went back home to her parents. It didn’t sit right with her, just leaving them outright. They had no other children, despite trying multiple times. Still, Dahlia found herself drifting away from them and towards her grandfather. She wasn’t able to visit either house much once she got into college. Ever since finishing her bachelor’s degree in psychology, she’s started visiting her grandfather much more often. She isn’t unknown within the small town thanks to these visits. She’s made friends with quite a few people around town, but she certainly doesn’t know everyone. People come and go, and Dahlia’s never stayed long enough to get to know everyone. Some part of her wonders if she should try and change that. Mayfield is beautiful, after all. Having always been the creative sort, Dahlia wanted to make something grand. Words came naturally to her. At her laptop, sentences and paragraphs and scenes flow from her fingertips. Usually. She’s been creating worlds and characters and imagined conflicts since she was young, and her parents always encouraged her, provided it did not interfere with her studies. She wrote various short stories back in middle and high school, though she realizes when she looks back on them that they weren’t very good. Now, she has a dream of becoming an author, of creating a world that people can get invested in, a world they want to be in. After four full drafts and not one published work, she started to lose hope that writing was for her. She’s determined to give it one more shot, though. That shot started one month ago. She hasn’t been able to write anything since her grandfather passed. She’s quietly hoping a change of scenery will allow her to write again. Another hobby she's held dear since childhood is archery. She learned the basics at a young age from her grandfather, who used to hunt small game. Dahlia has never hunted, but now that she's become skilled, she's been considering it. Thanks to this pastime, Dahlia is quite strong. She isn't bodybuilder strong by any means, nor is she very good in the running department, but she's strong enough to pull back the strings of heavy bows with relative ease. Reason For Visiting Mayfield: Her grandmother died a few years ago. A few weeks ago, her grandfather followed. Dahlia’s just here to pack up the house, get it ready to sell, and maybe relive some old, sweet memories. Maybe she can get a little work done on her novel too. Piper “Monday” Patata Age: 32 Gender: Cis girl ( She/her ) Personality: Absentminded and distant. She often gets lost in her own thoughts and can completely lose sight of what’s happening around her at times. Monday is introverted, and when put into a social situation, can tend to come off as a bit scatterbrained and apathetic to a point. She’s never been good with words, and that’s why she usually prefers to keep to herself. Appearance: Monday is plump with pale skin that has an almost pink tint to it. She has light blonde short curly hair which seems like it hasn’t had a good brushing in awhile… Most of the time, she wears a crumpled brown leather jacket with a plain white-long sleeved shirt as a top and a long blue skirt with daisy patterning as a bottom. Background: Monday was born into a poor family of farmers. As soon as she was old enough to start schooling, she was expected to help out on the farm. This, and the pressure to keep up with her academic studies, left her very little time for things like hanging out with friends or even time to herself. Once Monday reached 18, she left Mayfield to pursue college. Reason For Visting Mayfield: After failing her final year in college and not being able to keep up with rent, Monday finally decided to move back to Mayfield.
