Name:
Regan Antares
Age:
He is a younger Demon... From a certain point of view of course.
He physically appears around his late twenties to early thirties, it's anyone's guess. Still, Reagan's natural age is around two hundred fourty-three.
Gender ( Can included preferred pronouns):
Male
He/Him
Role:
Investigator
Species:
Demon
Powers ( Please look at post 6):
Teleportation:
Due to its rarity amongst Demons, finding a teacher has been an uphill battle. Regan has experimented with it himself finding it is easiest to use such an ability with some sort of medium to aim his travels; Regan uses his cane. Without it teleporting feels akin to walking in the dark, disorienting and difficult to traverse.
Fire Manipulation:
Easily his most well versed ability. He has lived his whole life surrounded by Demons capable of such a feat. He is well aware of its versatile capabilities, its potential.
Twas why he carries a lighter and a can of hairspray anywhere he goes... Portable flamethrower!
Appearance (Be as realistic as you can so no vampires with purple skin :)) :
Regan is a man of average height and build for one his age; standing at 5'11", and weighing 196 lbs.
He is unlike most demons possessing no outwardly demonic traits, no wings nor horns. He looks like any plain mortal man, and he is certain he'd be easily mistaken as one if it wasn't for the natural dark aura that all Demons possess.
Regan has a very distinct figure, being that surprisingly he needs the assistance of a cane to walk. His left leg is lame, naturally weak even from his youth. Walking without assistance from the cane is rather painful, and would severely slow him down. Still doesn't kill his spirit, all Demons are resilient creatures. You can see it in his posture, the relaxed yet confident stride that spoke of a man willing to face whatever came at him, gladly.
His hair is black, with the faintest hint of natural coppery highlights near the roots. Regan's hair is about medium length, though swept back away from his face. His eyes are a natural orange, a strange faded brown which often makes Regan feel a little uncomfortable when he looks at himself in the mirror. They hold a shrewdly manner about them, searching. They always are ever so slightly narrowed in a silent challenge with everything around him. His features are... He wouldn't say handsome, but he isn't ugly either. He would call himself average, nothing very outstanding about himself that he thinks would get him any attention... Maybe his slightly broken nose? Surely makes him look tough. Partnered with the near constant five o'clock shadow on his face, maybe he can make the rough and tumble look work? Nah. He isn't the most intimidating man one could encounter.
For attire a simple black overcoat on top of a white dress shirt with faint vertical grey stripes running up the shirt. The sleeves are rolled up to the elbow, more out of personal preference than anything else. His pants are grey slacks, rather plain with simple dress shoes. He has little to no accessories, the only noticeable item being a burgundy scarf around his neck.
Not the best outfit for adventuring... He might need new threads in the future.
His coat is lined with pockets, the left side filled with work related things, such as note pads and pencils. The right side holding more personal items, such as a small pouch of candies... He finds it very amusing when on the job and he seemingly pulls three various historical texts, a pen, a map, and a Snicker bar from thin air. The reactions are always hilarious. Let us not mention the other things he carries... He likes to be prepared.
Regan's cane is not the standard walking stick. It's a swordstick. A thin two and a half foot long blade hidden within the cane, the outer shell acting as it's scabbard. While capable of slashes, it's more of a thrusting weapon similar to a rapier.
Personality:
A man of distinguished nature, he does his utmost to be calm and collected in everything that he does. Yes, internally he might be seething with fury but he won't allow himself to give it away... That's bad for buisness.
Regan is a private investigator, specializing in missing persons and murder cases. Despite that, this is his first High Profile case and he feels a lot of weight upon his shoulders. It frightens him, but there is a hint of pride. This means the King and Queen acknowledged him, acknowledged him for his skills. The thought always does make him smile.
Regan has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, believing that many look down on him due to his disability. He has encountered quite a few who have disregarded him, said rather hurtful things, and maybe once or twice abused his handicap. It has been an uphill battle to prove he has worth in his society... Power is seen as something to respect, and Regan's body stifles his physical capabilities. To become anything, he had to rely upon his mind... If the King and Queen acknowledge his skills, that means he did something right.
He has some type of power... Right?
He is a smart guy, in his time he has learnt much from simple forensics to even the inner workings of magics. Not that he is capable of using it, but understanding is just as capable a weapon... He is well read, often keeping a book or two on his personal and occasionally spouting a passage if it fits the situation for his form of levity.
He isn't so sure. It's like a wave, a feeling of inferiority compared to his peers that comes and goes. Emotional highs and lows. Brooding over his lot in life. As optimistic as he tried to be, Regan is a pessimist. There just always seems to be something in the way.
He is weaker than most Demons and he feels like he will be more of a burden in trying to find the heir than a helpful tool. What can he do? Spout off bad poetry to scare off a Dragon?
I guess you can say he has little self confidence despite his outward appearance, a Demon willing to take on the World. The truth is he is terrified. A case like this? Finding the heir of the Demon Kingdom...
It might be a one way trip for him.
... Losing your way in thoughts, so troublesome. Regan mind never sleeps, constantly churning new ideas. New possibilities. It's probably why he was able to find a way to use his Demonic Abilities to such prowess. It's also a curse at times, getting lost in his head. Over analyzing every little conversation, thing he sees, and so forth.
Outside of his inner ramblings, is a quiet man. Regan simply likes to listen rather than speak. He does his best to be kind to others even despite there differences, he has learned that from his own experiences. He does his utmost to be open minded, to listen to everything from both sides before passing judgment. He likes to discuss books, history, and other intellectual properties. He doesn't really enjoy small talk. He feels it had no real substance besides niceties, and it makes him feel rather awkward.
Regan likes to have fun. He robbed himself of a real childhood by pushing himself to near constant study for the first century of his life. Honestly, he has a bit of a childish streak about him... It's subtle, but you can notice it if you pay attention. His love of candy, he tendency to just space out and daydream, and the fact he can't sit still for the love of God! Try as he might, he can't rid of this sort of sway to him... Always tapping his fingers on the table, bouncing his leg, or even quietly humming a song.
Strengths (3+)
His Mind is his greatest tool.
His Swordsmenship, while no master of the blade, Regan isn't a pushover.
His Control over his Abilities, made from years of tinkering and testing to get a working product from his Demonic Powers.
Regan's total unpredictability... Sometimes the best strategy is to do something batshit crazy that your opponent doesn't anticipate.
Weaknesses: (3+)
His lack of confidence in himself.
His body is weak; Regan lacks power.
His greatest weapon is also a flaw; casting shadows of doubt and uncertainty to everything he does.
He is a very passive person by nature; Sometimes he allows problems to grow to big due to his preference to try and settle things peacefully. A hard truth is that sometimes violence is the only solution, Regan just wishes to not admit it.
Backstory (optional):
Nah.
Other:
Humanity is an interesting beast that little cast an eye to when offering favorites.
