Reigning Opposition

In the shroud of Bone Lake Forest [I'm very original can you tell?], a family of Tyrannosaurus Rexes have claimed reign for years. Unchallenged by any rivals, the group has been able to grow and strengthen, their Supreme Reign seemingly never at end. The territory surrounding Bone Lake has been their domain, providing for them with it's luscious landscapes and constant source of prey. It's a prime place for a growing force of hungry meat-eaters, and the Rex family that lives there has flourished in it.

Of course, success never goes unnoticed. Rumors, whispers, about this group of Apex Predators has reached the farthest edges of the continent, and further, drawing in those who wish to take it. A large family of Giganotosaurus has traveled far to reach the territory of Bone Lake, seeking to make it their own. They know the challenge ahead of them, a family of Rexes such as this will be no easy feat to overcome, but the promise and prize is just too much to pass off.

They've come in with a force too, declaring war on the Reigning carnivores by killing one of them, leaving the carcass to be found well within their territory. Their intentions are known: They are here to take the Territory. Anyone who stops them, will end up dead.

With blood promises to be shed, neither family ready to back down, it's only a matter of who will end up with Supreme Reign over the Bone Lake Territory.

Well Congratulations, if you've read this far it means that my really poorly written Plot did not scare you off. Which I appreciate it, because it's really the best I've got for the moment. If you continue to read, and maybe even join so I have the luxury of Roleplaying something I love and have been obsessed with my entire life, I will forever appeciate and be grateful to you.

Also I'm aware they lived in two different times, but who doesn't love a good Giga Vs Rex plot? So we're pretending as if they did. ^.^

Thank you!

My Co-Lead, as always, is Tenebris Umbra should they wish it. Please respect her.

Also if you're in one of my other Rps and are like "Hmm.. Imp you haven't been super active in your other Rps, what are you doing?" I promise once I get this out my acitvity with improve, right now I can't sway my focus. Must put my ideas down, then I will be able to focus on my other things. Thank you! :)

The Roleplay Rules
Follow all of Wp's and Eve's Rules
1. Be Active, in Both Discussion and Rp. If you aren't, I will simply remove you.

2. Reservations will last for only 48 Hours. If they aren't finished by the time that time frame is up, the reservation will be removed and the spot reopened.

3. This is Semi-Literate at Minimum, this will need to be Demonstrated in both Rp and Sign Ups.

4. No Perfect Characters, Godmodding, etc. It will not be tolerated.

5. Don't be "That Guy". Seriously. Just don't. It gets annoying for everyone when the Plot can't progress constantly. Drama is fun every now and then, but not back to back to back constant.

7. On that hand, Drama in Rp is okay, welcomed even, but Drama in OOC? Nope. Not at all.

8. Read Everything. I mean it. If you don't it's obvious, and I'll know, and I will say something. If you've read everything hide the missing number in your form.

9. In fights, you cannot hit every blow, and you cannot dodge it either. If I see it happening, I will call you out on it. Do ignore attacks either. If something doesn't make sense, I will say something. You're character is NOT invincible, it will feel the wounds and effects of fighting.

10. I reserve the right to deny forms. If I have to ask you to fix your form 3 times, that is grounds for an immediate denial. Same goes for 3 strikes in rp, if I have to say something to you 3 times, about anything, I can and will remove you from the rp.

11. For Characters, they cannot all be the biggest they can be for their Age Group. I want Diversity. Not all Subs can be as big as they can get. Same with Juvies. Adult Offspring are smaller than their parents.

12. Have fun!

Roleplay Information

Rex Vs Giga
The following categories will give brief descriptions to follow for each Species, just so people don't have to necessarily go out and do a ton of research on their own, and so I don't have to fact check. Because I'm Lazy. But not That lazy. Somethings also may not be completely accurate, but if they aren't I made them that way for a reason.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex
The Tyrant Lizard is the King of Kings, everyone and everything knows that. They're a gargantuan predator capable of great feats of carnage. They have the strongest bite force known, capable of crushing pretty much anything that gets in their way.

So here are things to know:
- They're about 12-15 feet tall at the hip as adult [taller when measured to their heads]
- They can get to abut 40 Feet in Length when fully grown
- Adult Offspring are not finished Growing, they've Got YEARS left to grow, so they will not be the same size as their parents.
- Males are more extravegently colored than females, and but have brightly colored crasts that appear when they reach Sub-Adulthood. [These can just be markings instead of physical crests]
- Females are usually less flashy in coloration than males.
- Females are larger than males. An Older Male might be Larger than a Younger Female, but once they stop Growing, Females are Larger. Though it isn't by a lot.
- They have a Tremendous Bite Force. It's built for gripping and crushing rather than slicing or slashing.
- The adults do not move terribly fast, so most of their hunts are either ambushes, or the Subs are sent to run things down.
-Subs are much lighter and agile, more capable of running faster and longer distances. Experienced Subs can be Used as Scouts and in Hunts to help bring down Faster Prey.
- Babies are all born darker shades of brown and green, and only transition into their true colors about half way through the Juvenile Phase.

The Giganotosaurus
The Giga, in terms of danger, is about as even as it gets with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. They're Apex Predators as well, and to be feared whenever seen or scented. They strike fear just as much, and it's best to avoid when possible. While they might not go pound for pound with a Rex, they can hold their own, and sometimes win.

So here are the Things to Know:
- They are about 13-16 feet tall at the hips for adults [taller if, again, measured to their heads]
- They can reach up to 43 ft in length when fully grown.
- Like Rexes, they do not finish growing until years after they've become adult. So Fresh Adults are Smaller than their older Counterparts.
Males are more extravegently colored than females, and but have brightly colored crasts that appear when they reach Sub-Adulthood. [These can just be markings instead of physical crests]
- Females are usually less flashy in coloration than males.
- Females and Males are about the same in Size. Females, though, tend to be slightly smaller than the males.
- While they have strong bites, their muscle and teeth are built more for causing bleed damage. They slice and lacerate, and the way their teeth are shaped they cannot cause crushing blows.
- Gigas are while large are not super heavy in build, instead have a more leaner appearance. This gives them a bit more speed than other carnivores their size.
- They are better capable of trotting down their meals, and have better stamina for chases. They prefer to bleed out their prey to exert less energy, but they will go for killing blows if it presents itself.
- Sub-Adults, while they can cause decent damage, are not as quick as their parents, as their legs are properly proportioned yet. They are more so just back up or they fight smaller creatures,
- Baby Gigas are born with their colors.

In Comparison
At a glance the two are pretty even, each having their own disadvantages and advantages over the other. In a 1v1 situation, it's hard to predict an outcome, though if the Rex sees the Giga coming, or ambushes them, the odds are skewed in their favor with their ability to break bones with a well placed bite.

Here are the Things to Consider:
- While similar in size, Rexes are heavier and more muscular than gigas. Yet, Gigas are faster. Rexes cannot outrun Gigas, but with a headstart they can likely out walk them until they can come up with a strategy.
- The Rex has a bite built for crushing and biting, so they dont cause as much bleed with their teeth mostly just puncturing the flesh and it can be difficult to escape their grasp without causing worse damage. However, they can absolutely break bones with their bites. Gigas, though, are not built for crushing or breaking bones. Instead they work by leaving more lacerating wounds on their prey to cause worse bleeding damage. These bites do take longer to bleed out larger prey, unless they're severe wounds, but they still are deadly. As blood flows, the target weakens and slows, making Gigas dangerous, even for rexes. So, blow for blow, it can go either way. Though the Rex's ability to break bones gives it an advantage.
- For the Subs, Rexes have more utility and Sub-Rexes can be Quite dangerous. Sub Rexes can out maneuver and outpace even an Adult Giga. They can't go toe to toe with them on their own, but an old and big enough sub can inflict damage and help out it's parents. However, since Subs are capable of taking care of themselves to a degree, and can act as scouts, they can often be found alone or with the other subs. This can make it easy for Gigas to ambush them. However, if they miss their mark, the Subs can also lead them back into a trap if the Gigas give chase. While their bites hurt and cause damage, they don't have the same force behind it as an Adult Rex does.
- For Sub Gigas, it's slightly different. The subs don't often leave the protection of the adults, but they only really go after smaller creatures, and only help the adults if it's unlikely they will be injured. When moving the Adult Gigas are always in the front, leaving the Subs in the back, which means they don't get attacked if something is coming from the front, but they could get grabbed from behind. Sub-Gigas, even though they aren't terribly fast, can still keep distance from an Adult Rex if they see them first. They also can inflict a nasty bite too since they don't need tremendous force to cause bleeding bites.
- In the Rp, the Rexes are going to have the Edge of knowing their Territory at first. The Gigas will be new and still figuring things out. They won't know what to expect from the terrain until they've been there long enough. Basically, the Rexes can predict their environment, the Gigas cannot at first.
- The two families are pretty even with numbers, but an extra adult with the Gigas could give them a bit of an edge with it being 3 vs 4 when it comes to adults. However, that advantage is still up in the air.
- The Juveniles of the Gigas are going to be in much greater danger than that of the Rexes. Since the Gigas do not have a Nest nor are they familiar with the territory, they are putting them in danger whether they leave them behind or bring them. Whereas rex juveniles are going to be able to hide better in either situation. Juvie Rexes can also be pretty agile and quick, not enough to escape from chases in a straight run, but it might allow them to escape line of sight long enough to hide. Juvie Gigas are not quite as fast, designed more for hiding from the get go. [I like the idea off fat little giga babies, don't sue me.]
- Overall, I tried to make things balanced, with advantages going in either direction.

Role Explanations

Matriarch
This is the Adult Female of either of the Families. She is the mother of them and the Mate of the Patriarch. She makes majority of the decisions regarding the Family, with help from her mate. These are not Families where Offspring can Challenge for rank. Once her offspring become adults and start to get challenging, she sends them off to start their own families. She leads besides her mate, and they get the final say in everything.

Patriarch
He is the Mate of the Matriarch, and Leads beside her. He is more so the Protector of the Family. His position can only be challenged for by an Outside male if the female wishes it. If she doesn't, he still has to fight, she just isn't the prize and can lead a charge against the other male if necessary. If he does lose and she accepts the new Victor, the new Patriarch can either choose to accept her current offspring, run them off, or kill them. He leads besides his Mate, and while she holds a bit more power than him, he is just as respected.

Adult Offspring
These are the Adult Children of the Leading Pair. They're on the verge of leaving the group, and only stay until they're kicked out or leave on their own. Typically they're kicked out quickly because they start to challenge their parents, but occasionally one or two will stick around longer. Eventually, though, they will get kicked out eventually, they're too much of a threat to the Adults.

Sub-Adults
These are the younger offspring of the Leads. While they are sexually mature, they don't have the chops to survive on their own quite yet (though it occasionally happens). They can help with hunts, and the occasional fights, but since they're still learning, they leave most of that up to the Adults. On rare occasion Sub-Adults will leave early if they find a Lone Adult Male in the vacinity that Courts them. However, even in his care, she is in great risk until she reached Adult, so most choose to stay with their family. Sub-Adults become sexually mature about half way through their Sub-Adult stage, but again, they aren't a threat to the adults so they aren't kicked out nor are they likely to leave.

Juveniles
These are the youngest babies of the group. Juveniles, in this rp, refers to any offspring under the Sub-Adult stage. They frequently get brought with during hunts once they can keep up, but don't participate until they're older. Juveniles who cannot keep up with the adults are left at the nest, since most creatures won't go near a nest of an Apex Predator. For this rp: Rexes can have Juvies of any size, but Gigas will only have Juveniles who can keep up with them to some degree.

Name:
Neith
Possibly "Fear, Dread"
Egyptian Goddess of Hunting and War
Age:

Adult
Gender:

Female/Doe
Species:

Tyrannosaurus Rex
Role:

Matriarch
Appearance:

Neith is a formidable creature who, quite literally, towers over many. She stands at a hair under 15 feet tall at the hip, making her several feet over twenty at her head, probably closer to twenty three feet. Her length isn't quite as long as it could be, topping out at a few inches over 38 feet long. Though, if you ask her, it's only because she got a couple of feet snipped off from her tail, which she didn't by the way, she just didn't quite make it to the full 40. Still, she is a colossal female, with and wide and heavy mass, her muscular clear within her frame.

The female rex is a creature in her prime, and since she laid her most recent eggs a while ago she has gained any weight she lost during that time back. Neith has a powerful figure with a wide stance, and it's easy to mistake her for being larger than she actually is. Her hips are wide, layered in powerful muscle, attached to strong legs and large, padded geet. Her abdomen is a bit round, but nothing that isn't standard for the shape of your average Rex doe. Her tail is wide at the base, heavy in muscle as it's used to counterbalance the weight of her massive head. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to give something that big of a head? Back to her tail though. It is quite wide at the base and narrows over it's length to a point. It's surprisingly versatile despite it's primary use, and it would even be best to avoid getting smacked by the thing.

In the opposite direction of her tail is her shoulders. They are strong as well, but not nearly as layered in muscle as her hips. They're attached to a wide neck that has to hold that gigantic ass head of herself, and it's coated, completely painted in thick muscle so she has the strength to move it in any direction and with lethal speed. Hell, her whole body is layered in muscle, but a creature that big has to be, otherwise she would simply fall over and be a meal for someone else. The one thing that isn't a joke, though, are the muscle attachments to her skull, especially her jaw. It's what gives her, and all her kind, quite possibly the strongest bite force on the planet. That big ole head of hers, which is probably over five feet in length, is the home of those damaging jaws of herself. Within them are teeth that are large, several inches in length, serrated, yet blunt. They're wide teeth with more blunt edges so that they can withstand the force of her prey trying to struggle within her mouth. They, along with the vice of her jaws, are what make her bite deadly, she can grab and hold on, and crush anything that gets between her teeth.

And then, of course, there are those tiny little useless arms of hers on her chest below her shoulders. But we don't talk about those.

While males of her species are flashy and eye catching, there is more of a subtle beauty to Neith's great appearance. The coloration of her hide is somethong of more natural, earthy tones. Her base color is a medium green color with a more olivey hue to it than true forest green. It appears lighter in the sunlight, coming off more of a true light green color, whereas in the darker it's more of it's true color, perhaps a bit richer in tone, with the normal olive hue to it. Her underbelly color is a creamy color a few shades lighter than tan, complimenting the green well. However, her markings, though, are much darker than the rest of her body. They are a dark color that's hard to determine exactly what it is. In the dark, or lower lighting, her markings appear more of a very dark olive green color, verging on black. Whereas in bright lighting the markings on her body look more of a dark brown, nearly black, color.

Her markings present themselves in a rather predictable pattern down her body. Two streaks line both of her sides, about 6 inches from her spine on either side, starting at her the meeting her neck and head. and going lengthwise with her body until her tail. Coming from the streaks on either side of her body are thylacine like stripes, that reach down to just before the color shifts to her underbelly color. These stripes don't just go down her body vertically, but they go up and over her spine, connecting with the stripes on the other side. This leaves pockets of green coloring between the stripes along her spine, giving it a distinctive orange-tan hue bordering the green. She has thicker, heavier stripes on her hips, which shorten just before reaching the base of her tail. There the stripes continue, but instead of ending on either side they connect to form rings instead. These go down the entire length of her tail and are several inches thick. Her tail tip ends in this color as well. On her legs are similar markings, with stripes, a little over a foot long, follow down the front of her thigh, lightening with each stripe. Where the next stripe should be, starting down her shin, instead the rest of her legs are consumed with a dark green color. It isn't as dark as her markings, but ti's considerably darker than her base color. On her head, the stripe markings continue, making their way down the top of her head down to her nose. The ones on her forehead don't come down passed her eye ridge, instead they stop when they meet the same dark green color of her legs. However, they are visibly seen coming down to stripe her snouth just behind her nose where the antorbital fossa is. Since this area on her face is actually the color of her underbelly, the stripes on either side of her face where that antorbital fossa is are much more visible, contrasting with the light color.

It's obvious to anyone who sees Neith that she is designed for camoflauging in the forest while hunting. With the coloration of primarily green, and other earthy colors, the female blends in very well with the forest for when she hunts. She can be down right difficult to see, especially by herbivores with poor vision. The only thing bright about the female are the yellow eyes that sit in her head, but with how big she is, and how far away things are from her face before she's biting them, they aren't something anything can see and immediately think they're eyes.

Overall, Neith is a pristine specimen of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and she's proud of it.
