I like the dog a lot. With the focus on the dog, the background is fine being very simple; however, the grass looks pretty messy. Maybe you could make the background a tiny bit blurry to soften it out, make the edges of the blades sharper, and make it all a solid green color?

(Sorry, I know you weren't asking me for critique and it might not be useful at all. Hope it is, though ^^)
