Fae laughed along with the male, feeling less tense as the conversation went on. "Yeah, I guess we do." She paused for a moment before adding on to her statement. "It's not that I don't want to be responsible, and take the lead, but everyone keeps doubting me." She wrinkled her nose. "I heard a few of them saying my future mate should just take full control instead." Fae scoffed as she remembered the moment. "As if he would be so much better at it. He thinks he's all that, that he can 'help me' learn how to be responsibly. What a dumb statement.' Fae internally kicked herself again. "Sorry again, I feel like I'm making this all about myself. Seems like it would be rough to be forced into living up to unrealistic expectations."

"I dont mind" Dijkstra chuckled a little. "Keeps me distracted from all my pack problems." He looked at the darkening sky for a moment and took a deep breath. By now the rain had stopped all together and a cool breeze swept through the forest saying the night was on its way. Dijkstra sighed, thankful that the day was almost over. He moved his front paws lightly on the earth feeling his surroundings. Many animals were on their way to b we d and it wouldn't be long before his pack would be looking for him. His ears twitched at a sound a snapping branch. He sniffed the air "Kenely you might as well come out now. Your hiding spot was given away. Dijkstra called and turned around to stare into the forest where the male would no doubt be exiting from. Edited at June 27, 2023 11:07 AM by Cypress Road

Fae nervously pressed her ears against her head at the mention of another wolf. She was still wary of how any other wolf would react to her being here. Let alone talking so casually with a wolf. Not just any wolf, either. She assumed from their conversation that he was also the heir to the dark pack. There was a chance that just by talking to someone that important, she could cause a war. Fae stood up and glanced behind her. On top of all that, there was a good chance that someone from her pack wasn't far from finding her. She didn't want that to cause any problems. It would be easy for other wolves to jump to conclusions. She turned back towards the male, speaking quietly. "I don't want any other wolf to get angry and cause problems, so maybe it's time for me to go now."

"It's fine. Kenley won't hurt you." Dijkstra said as he glanced back at the female. Kenley padded out of the forest into the small clearing. "Bro why did you run off like that. Your mom is about to have the entire pack come searching for you. Thankfully I was able to talk her out of it. Come on before she decides to do it anyways." Dijkstra cleared his throat to get kenleys attention. Kenley looked at the male like he was crazy. "What is wrong with you dude?" He asked as his gaze slid behind Dijkstra and landed on the female. "Nope that's it I'm outta here. You ain't gonna drag me down with you. Imma let your mom send that search party." Kenley said as he started backing away. Dijkstra quickly tackled his friend. "OH no your not your going to keep this a secret." Dijkstra told him "And why would I do that Dijkstra. So that your not alone when the pack decides they don't want you as their alpha no thank you." "No. Your gonna keep it a secret because your my friend." He told kenley. Kenley sighed. "Alright. Alright. Now can you get off me? Your heavy."

Fae shifted her paws against the soft ground, watching the two wolves interact. Dijkstra. She repeated the name in her mind. It was nice, like it would feel right on her tongue. She refocused her attention on the wolves and saw the newcomer, Kenley, pinned to the ground. She chuckled quietly as she watched him surrender. "I hope I didn't cause either of you too much trouble."

"Trouble?" Kenley scoffed. "My boy is always trouble." He said before nipping at one of Dijkstras paws. "Now are you gonna get off of me? I can't breathe." Dijkstra let the male to his feet before turning and sauntering back over to the female. "You know I just realized we had been talking for a while now and we don't know eachothers names." He said not realizing that she heard his name when kenley said it.

Fae swished her tail, standing up to meet the male, no, Dijkstra, as he walked over to her. She tilted her head in a friendly manner, smiling as she did. "My name's Faeris, but my friends call me Fae." As she spoke, she was careful to stay alert for any signs of her pack. She didn't want to get caught like this and cause issues. But to be completely honest, she had really enjoyed the conversation. He felt like someone she could talk to comfortably, and that wasn't common for her. The only other wolf she felt like that with was KoKo, but even that was different.

Dijkstra smiled. "That's a lovely name." He said before he seemed to get lost in thought. "Fae." He had whispered the name testing it on his tongue. "My name is Dijkstra and this is Kenley." He paused for a moment ears twitching watching Faeris. Kenley padded up behind Dijkstra. Watching Fae for a moment as well. Kenley seemed a little uneasy on his feet like he wasn't sure if he should run. Edited at June 27, 2023 05:58 PM by Cypress Road

Fae smiled as Dijkstra repeated her name. She appreciated his compliment. "You have nice names too. I like the sound." She paused in her musings as she noticed Kenley seeming a bit uncomfortable beside Dijkstra. She tilted her head at him, a concerned look in her face. "Sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable."

"Kenley chuckled at faeris comment. "It's not you I'm worried about. It's your pack that I'm worried about and my dad." Kenley said glancing behind him. "Dijkstra we should probably go before the whole pack more specifically my dad and your mom, come looking for us." Dijkstra sighed not wanting to leave. "Come on dude. What's life without a little risk?" Dijkstra chuckled knowing Kenley hated that question. They had practically lived by that motto as pups long as it wasn't something that would get them in too much trouble.
