Kanu believed that Sloane looked pretty decent too, though no one could ever be as hot as Kanu. It was just a fact. Kanu wasn't too worried about anything at this point. He just wanted to get drunk and that really wasn't working out for the half-breed.

Sloane never attempted for 'pretty' or 'hot.' She aimed for touch, fierce, and practical. The day she worried about looking good will be the day that she admitted to enjoying certain trivial hobbies, which would not be soon at all. So instead, Sloane surveyed the crowd with a hunters eye, and a warriors mind.

Although Kanu may look and act pretty clueless, he was an assassin. His whole job relied on his being able to observe people and find out their weakness in order to kill them. So although he looked pretty damn hot, the whole point was to distract people who knew him to be an assassin. He was trying to get them to think he was an idiot. Most of the time it worked. As it was doing with many of the people here. Meanwhile he was observing them all with piercing purple eyes.

ok how did we decide they were going to start liking each other
Sloane also surveyed the crowd from across the room. When powerful people gathered in a central location, especially ones as bratty and stuck up as humans, chaos is bound to follow.

Uhhh, I can't remember. Maybe it was their conjoined hate of the humans? I dunno.
Kanu knew this well too, as his kind was also like the humans in that way. Not that he actually associated with the demon side of him. He didn't really want to know what that side of him was capable of. Demons were brutes and stuck up, perhaps Kanu was a bit full of himself but not to the point where he couldn't see passed(wait I just forgot words, is that right or would it be past? I can't figure this out send help)his own ego. No, he was not like demons. But he was not like shifters either he fit in everywhere and nowhere. Here in this realm, he applied his knowledge of both realms in order to fully comprehend what was happening. So he knew something chaotic would be happening soon.

past* because pass is like passing a football lol and maybe... anyways i think there should be an assassination plot so they get to beat people up. is that okay?
BRUH I ALMOST WROTE ANASURI LIKE NO THE BABY WOULD DIE INSTANTLY
An icy feeling traveled up Sloane's spine. Someone was watching, and not just because she was an immortal alongside these insignificant mortals. No. Someone was watching and waiting, stalking in the shadows for the right time. There was danger in the air. A smile pulled across Sloane's lips.

Ok. Assassination is something we love in Kanu's world.
Kanu felt it seconds before Sloane did. The feeling of someone watching, stalking them all. He smirked in unison with Sloane. He was an assassin himself and knew so many things it was crazy. He hadn't heard of this attempt that would happen soon, but he wasn't very surprised. He'd take the opportunity too if he wasn't already here on a treaty.

Immortality had its perks. For one, as a warrior and hunter there is a gaining or certain skills only acquired with hundreds of years of practice. Plus, they had forms of magic, although Sloane herself did not have one. She more felt rather than heard, although they were incredibly loud for a supposed assassin, the arrow be let loose. She turned on a dime with her hand outstretched, and snatched the missile out of the air. Her glare was furious to most, but deep down, Sloane was excited.

Kanu watched as Sloane grabbed the arrow. She was fast and deadly. Damn, she was kinda hot too. Not like Kanu would ever say that to her face, she'd probably murder him, and Kanu did not like being murdered. It didn't sound very fun. Kanu watched as chaos ensued, like it always did during an assassination attempt. Though this was hardly even that, it was a very sad depiction of assassins, Kanu knew that from his own experiences. He decided to not be involved in this unless he was forcibly brought into it. He just wanted to witness the chaos, though he'd defend someone if he was needed.

that 3rd sentence sent me
Anasuri looked around, meeting the eyes of officials boldly before spotting the archer. In a second, the arrow was hurtling through the air, and embedded itself in their chest. There. was a clunk as the body hit the floor. Not very silent at all. All chaos broke loose at that moment, the guests and courtiers fleeing the room in a jumbled and chaotic mess. There was no organization to it. Sloane might have been fine with that, but as there were now more arrows being shot at the crowd, if it came to a battle they'd just be in the way. She let out a piercing whistle, halting everyone for a moment. She then began barking out orders, "Pick up the wounded, no shoving to get through the damn door. Those with defensive powers- use them! And open up the other side of the door." All the while she kept an eye out for attacks. The arrows were halfhearted, and based on the fact that Kanu also did not seem concerned, or keen on leaving, it appeared the assassins were waiting for them.
also, i have 2 ideas for the assassins 1-a fight 2-its the sister who was presumed dead who wanted to make a deal with the immortals and this was the best way to make sure no one was around
