It didn't take too long for Julian to get to the front of the line, and he'd just finished saying his order when he heard the name Jason called. A smirk rose to his lips, and he immediately turned to see who it was. It was natural instinct to immediately look up at his little brother's name. Of course, he didn't actually expect to see his Jason, but, when he looked up, there he was. His little brother. Once Julian got his card back, he strolled on over to his brother, a grin on his face as he called, "Hey Shrimp!"

Jason had just wanted his coffee. He didn't want to be subjected to.... "Rat bastard," he grumbled with no heat, turning to face his annoying older brother. No one else called him Shrimp, so it had to be him. "J - I swear to fucking god. I didn't know you were in town." When Julian was beside him, Jason playfully punched his shoulder, stuttering for a moment, then going on like nothing had happened, "Why the hell didn't you call or something to tell me you were in?"

At the words rat bastard, Julian laughed softly, his smile lighting up his face as it always did. He couldn't just chuckle, or laugh softly, he always laughed, a real, hearty laugh. This especially came into play when he was around his family, and Jason never failed to make him laugh. Especially with his weird ass nicknames, that Julian had no idea where they came from. Jason's odd stutter caused Julian's brows to furrow, and his grin to slip off into mild concern, but Jason continued so fast, Julian hardly had time to really register what had happened. So he just continued on, ignoring whatever had happened. "Phones work both ways dumbass, and I just moved here like a week or two ago. I broke my phone. On moving day. It was absolute shit but it's fixed now, I've been super busy though, so I really haven't had time to call. Sorry 'bout that." Julian sighed softly, running a hand through his hair.

"You coulda still called when you decided to move out here. I would have helped you move and all," Jason shrugged, although there wasn't any real annoyance in his voice. It would be interesting to have his brother living in the same city. The same state hadn't been big enough for the two of them at their worst arguments, so hopefully they'd both matured and didn't end up in any large fights. Other than the ones where you are fighting your brother because he is apparently part of the group the 'heroes' are fighting. Fucking great. But in Jason's opinion - and experience - the person in the mask wasn't always the same as the person inside of the mask, so he'd just pretend the two weren't connected. Plus, if it weren't for Addi, Jason would most definitely be fighting with Julian. The heroes were corrupt shitholes, but they were the corrupt shitholes his girlfriend worked for. Perhaps he could convince Addi to quit working for the company, but that might take some time. "Whatever, anyway - where've you settled into? And you still with um... what's her name?" Jason snapped his fingers a few times, trying to recall his brother's long time girlfriend, "May? Mar.. Maria? Sorry, I'm blanking."

Julian couldn't help but grin at his little brother's offer to help him move in. Sure, sometimes the two acted like idiots and argued like all siblings do, but they had their moment, they were family after all. "Aw, you would've helped me move in? How absolutely kind of you to offer, maybe next time I decide to remodel you could help me out." Julian grinned, he was obviously teasing. He absolutely hated the tedious task of putting together furniture or painting, or any of it. There would be absolutely no renovating in his future, not unless Marina wanted to. Somewhere in the cafe, someone dropped some plates, and the crashing noise immediately made Julian stiffen and look around for someone. He quickly realized it was just someone dropping some plates, and quickly shook himself out of it. This whole villainy thing had him on edge. Truthfully, he really would've preferred to stay out of the whole hero/villain thing in this world. It was just so stupid to him, but he hadn't wanted Marina out there without him. He had no doubt that she could protect herself, but he worried anyways. Julian immediately began to actually pay attention to Jason once he snapped out of it, his tense posture relaxing as the adrenaline left his system. "Oh, I'm in a nearby apartment building, pretty good apartments for a decent enough price." Julian shrugged, he could just barely afford it considering he didn't really have a job at the moment. "And it's Marina, Shrimp. What about you? Are you still hopping from person to person?" Julian raised an eyebrow, he wasn't really into Jasons' romantic life, the dude just always had way too much going on and Julian only knew maybe half of it.

Jason had also glanced over to where the crashing sound came from, but didn't have anywhere near as much of a reaction as Julian did. Poor dude, Jason grimaced. Julian had always been tough and a lot, but Jason hadn't pictured him going out to fight crime. Then, any pity flew out of his mind as Jason scowled at Julian, "Actually yeah. I've been dating someone for a few months. Both of us wanna make it work, so," Jason shrugged, "That's about it for now." Julian's coffee order was called, and Jason waited while the rat bastard went to grab his drink. When he returned, Jason looked at Julian with a raised eyebrow, "Have you found a job yet? You look..." Jason paused, "You look like shit. Tired, too."

Julian smiled at Jason at the news, and gave his little bro a little pat on the back. "Well look at that, my little brother is finally growing up, how wonderful." He released a soft laugh that was curtly cut off at his name being called. Julian hurried over and grabbed his coffee, slipping some money into the tip jar before going back over to Jason, his strong coffee immediately adding some color back onto his pale face. "Thanks for the compliment asshole," Julian paused, taking a deep sip of his coffee. "And no, I haven't found one, I've had five interviews so far and haven't gotten a single call back. Apparently if you don't have a fucking college education you can't really get a job anywhere." Julian sighed, running a hand through his hair, his earlier humor evaporating.

"I know some people," Jason offered, taking a sip of his own coffee, "I can hook you up with a job." He nodded his head towards the door, and the pair walked outside, "Guy owes me a favor - flexible hours, good pay. Shit like that." Said 'guy' might be someone Jason once had blackmail material on, but if the situation called for it... He still had a job position that needed to be filled, and the two were friends-ish. "You need to be somewhere or free to hang out for a bit?"

Julian's eyes narrowed at Jason as Shrimp offered him a potential job. He was 80% sure that he didn't just know a guy, and had probably slept with said guy, but Julian wasn't one to pass up such a good offer. "Well as long as the job isn't something sketchy then I'll take you up on that offer." Julian could work with... unreasonable people, but he was already doing villain work, he didn't want to give the cops more reason to be interested in him than they already were. Plus, he'd never want to put Marina in a situation that could result in her identity being uncovered. He knew she could succeed as long as he didn't get in her way or fuck it up somehow. "Nah, that was my last thing for the day, so I'm free." Julian shrugged, taking another sip of his coffee. The tension leaving his body as the crisp outdoor air reached him.

"C'mon then. We are crowding up the entrance," Jason turned down the sidewalk, not going anywhere in particular. Once they were out of the busy hustling around the coffee shop, Jason spoke up, "It isn't sketchy-" and it really wasn't. The only reason Jason had blackmail on the guy was because he (actual Jason - not even his villain persona!) witnessed some less-than-ideal moral choices a few years back, "-Just a guy who needs some help. He's some big-wig artist or whatever. Sculpture-er, if you will. Needs someone strong to move around his big metal things, help him organize - maybe come with him to some scrap heaps occasionally to help him get some of the bigger pieces of metal he needs." Jason shrugged, "Weird dude, but he'll pay well and you only really gotta be there for a few hours a day, maybe like four-five days a week." He also might have been the guys muse a few times (it was really strange and Jason didn't want to talk about it) so he was owed this, really. "Sound like something you'd be interested in?"
