As Bluejay walked he just felt overwhelmed. From planning dens, to food. What about winter when food is scarce. Would wolves practice cannibalism. O god. "In all honesty, I don't think so." He could feel his breath and heart rate being faster than normal. He noticed fog and figured he could get comfort in that. "Im just getting aweful feelings that something could go horribly wrong." He admitted with a deep sigh as the river came into view finally. He looked at his mate and leaned against her.

Luna locked the top of Blue Jay's head, trying to help calm him. "I don't think things will be that bad. I mean, I know winter is coming, but we can send out twice as many hunting parties over the area as we need to, the territory and pack have doubled to do so" she said. "If it helps, I can tell you the best hunters in storm pack that could help with hunts."

He gave a sigh as his mate comforted him slowly but surely. Leaning into her soft coat his pulse relaxed. "Its just to much at once. I should be fine soon enough, just needed a minute." He let his muscles be at ease as he took a drink from the minute and noticed the fog rolling in thicker now. Just like the 1st night I spent over with her former pack. Giving a soft smile and a good shake he stretched slowly. "We should flip flop where we hunt. So maybe half of the month is one side then the other half is the other side. That way we don't deplete resources to quickly." He chuckled knowing his mind would never stop overthinking every little detail. But at least he wasn't panicking any more. "At any rate how are you doing. I know this is a massive change for me and I've been trained for this role. I can't imagine what your brain is like currently." He wanted to know what she was thinking and feeling. Knowing that this life was a tad overwhelming.

Luna gave a small shrug. "I dont really know how I'm feeling about it. I feel relieved, calm, I dont know. It's an odd feeling, but I think it's because I'm not used as training bait that I feel calm. My mind is rather clear now without that worry." She looked at Blue Jay with a smile. "That and I have you to help. I do agree, swapping where we hunt will help."

He kept close to his mate happy she was by his side. "I guess without the worry of being brutalized day in and day out would put me in a relived state of mind as well." He lifted his head to look over the layered lake. Fist was the lake, then the fog that had settled, then the night sky. "You didn't have to help, but you did. And I'm more then grateful for it." He licked her nose and nuzzled her. "I mean it, I love you." He sat down slowly in the grass as the crickets began chirping and the fireflies started, well, flying. Bringing the stars closer to them.

Luna looked at Blue Jay. "I dont know how I've helped" she admitted. "I feel like all I have done is cause issues, Orion acting out, Nyra having issues. That's because of me" she sighed before she watched the fireflies. She leaned into Blue Jay as she smiled a bit. "I love you too Blue Jay" she said as she wagged her tail. She had never felt happier than what she felt right then. Her blue eyes turned to him as she watched the light of the fog and fireflies dance around him.

Shaking his head he couldn't help but chuckle at what she thought she had done. "All you've done is prevent an aweful disaster, and replaced it with pure magic." He gave a sigh knowing she would never know how much suffering she had saved him from. "I suspect they where always going to be like that. Their general attitudes and disposition are simply aweful." He finished his sentence with a light laugh as he felt her leaning into him as well. Warmth and comfort wrapped in genuin love. As she told him she loved him back he could feel the tip of his ears get warmer as he tried to contain himself. Act properly and poised. Or at the very least keep himself from looking like a lunatic. However he couldn't prevent one small noise from escaping. A small, joyful yip and his tail wagging in full. The moon had begun rising and the fog grew thicker now. Making her look ghostly, almost disappearing. Only able to see a slight outline of her body, and the reflection of the fireflies in her eyes he felt warm, and soft on the inside. Like a glow from the sun itself decided to take root in his soul. Bluejay liked it there. He wouldn't trade it for the world or beyond. "We should be heading back though, food should be passed around currently." He knew he had to go, but in trueth he would pass up any position to stay here with her in this wonderfully simple moment.

Luna agreed on heading back with a small smile on her face. "I am getting a bit hungry, and I'm sure you are as well" she said as she stood up. She flicked her ear as she spotted a still soaking wet Orion with Maya not even looking at him. Luna could tell the former Alpha female was furious with him as Nyra lay on the outer edge of the camp, looking rather upset she wasnt alpha. Edited at August 31, 2021 09:38 PM by saratank

He shook his fur out and stood up to follow her back. "Indeed I am." He laughed as his stomach gave a low growl of its own. He looked up at her and saw she was looking at something with deep concentration, he tried to see it but couldn't. The went threw tall grasses and around trees till they got back to camp. He went to the head of the eating spot. It looked like a large amount of leaves on top of dirt, and seats made out of dirt that was dug around to make it look elevated.
