(Back to Jo) The two led Jo and Mal to a small room and shut the door. There were to many people in the room for how small it was, and the strangers were standing in front of the door. Johanna already felt claustrophobic. The girl was visibly angry, but the guy's expression was harder to read. He almost looked somewhat curious. His voice, however, held no emotion. Resistance? What are they resisting? Maybe its a good thing I got here when I did. "Are you going to tell us your names or is that it?" She put her hand on her hip, trying to salvage some of her dignity. Malachi coughed. "Also, is there any way to get some of our possessesions back?" He asked nervously. "Or at least see them under supervision?" Malachi you suck up. "I want to make sure no one has broken my gadgets. Please." He fiddled with his shirtsleeve, head bowed, unable to make direct eye contact.

Mel could scarcely disguise her laugh as a cough as the boy bowed. Who bowed nowadays? These were quite possibility the oddest people she had ever met. Nev cast her a glance, a question in his eyes. Should they give their names? They were going to be working with them for a unforeseen amount of time, so they would learn their names eventually. Nev spoke up after their silent consultation, "I'm Nev. This is Mel," he said as he nodded toward her. She didn't say anything in response, keeping her silence before she responded to Malachi's question. "I'm not sure if your heard our lieutenant, but we were given orders to keep you here until he says otherwise. He also told us explicitly to not return any of your weapons or other belongings, so no, you may not have your possessions back. And as for your little gadget, it is currently being inspected by one of our teammates. She's very good at taking things apart." She let the room fall into silence again, still not completely trusting the two strangers.

Nev and Mel? What kind of names are those? She glanced at Malachi. Mel sounds like Mal. I wonder if that has been weird for her. I hope it has. I hope she thinks someone is talking to her everytime i say Mal. Johanna glanced back at Nev, rolling her eyes. Lieutenant this, Lieutenant that. Must follow exact orders all the time blah blah blah. If I'da know these guys would be so boring I wouldn't've bothered following them. So much for the adventure. She wasn't gonna get to do nothing on this world if she was locked in here. And without her sword or Mal's watch they couldn't just blip off the planet. Ugh. Stupid annoying people. Nevertheless, Johanna tried not to let her annoyance show. She grinned a tiny bit and asked, "Alright fine, I just have one more question. Who searched me? Guy or girl?" She looked from Mel to Nev and back to Mel. She had been wondering this ever since she woke up.

This girl was certainly an odd one. Nev gave her a confused glance and looked back up at Johanna and Malachi. She could see the gears turning in Johanna's head, and Malachi continued to be silent and skittish. Just think, if Malachi had half of Johanna's recklessness, they could almost be normal people. She was still having trouble wrapping her head around the fact that these two were from a different world. She still wasn't sure that she even believed them, but after everything she had seen in the past year, she was slowly starting to realize that nothing was impossible. Not even weird time traveling teenagers. Mel scoffed as she spoke, "Why does it matter? I'd bet my life's savings that you were stripped of your weapons by whatever guards found you and brought you in."

These people were going to drive Johanna crazy. Why are they so defensive? It was a simple question. Mel and Nev were like stone, or they had a force field around them. Everything Jo and Mal said ricocheted off and hit them. Nothing penetrated. They didn't parry questions with stubbornness or anger in a way that Johanna could fight. They calmly didn't answer the question. That somehow infuriated Johanna more. "It's doesn't really matter. I don't care either way. I just wanted to know who found my secret knife so I could congratulate them for being the first. No one has ever found it before." She shrugged. Johanna really wished she had a knife to fiddle with. She didnt know what to day with her hands. Next to her, Malachi made a choking noise. "That has some... uncomfortable implications," he mumbled. Malachi knew where her secret knife was. Johanna smirked.

Mel wrinkled her nose as Johanna spoke, having a good idea of where that knife might have been after Malachi spoke. "Well, I'm not sure how things work in other universes, but our guards aren't normally concerned with modesty." She didn't have time to say anything else as Nev glanced down at his watch, scrolling through and reading a message he had received. He looked back up at Mel as he spoke, "Valentine agreed. Gray wants us to take them to the commons to meet the others." She barely contained her sigh. She remembered a time not long ago when she had been in a similar situation, and it hadn't gone well. Unit 3 was not fond of changes, even if these two weren't technically apart of the unit. It had taken her weeks to become accepted by the group. Well, almost everyone. Kie was still a work in progress. "Fine. Follow us, and don't say anything stupid or weird. You'll find that this group doesn't take well to that." She turned without another word and opened the door, leaving Nev to walk behind them. She walked in silence until they reached the common room, opening the door and letting the three behind her in. The commotion in the room quieted abruptly as the team laid eyes on the newcomers. Even Ada looked intrigued. The look didn't last for long though, because a moment later the girl was on her feet and bounding toward them, crashing into Mel with a hug that was a lot stronger than a seven year old should be able to give. Although Mel wasn't in the greatest mood, a bit of her irritation died as she wrapped her arms around the girl, holding her for a moment before she moved to Nev, hugging him with the same force. A smile split Nev's face, one that always made her chest flutter a bit. One pleading look from Ada, and she was hoisted up onto Nev's shoulders, his hands holding onto her legs to keep her steady. Finally, Rhea spoke, "Who's this?" Mel sighed as she spoke, "Gray's new project." The group looked confused, and Nev elaborated, "These two were found sneaking around outside. Gray decided that they work for us now. Don't ask me why, I don't know." He spokr evenly, completely unbothered by the fact that Ada was making tiny braids in his dark hair. (I would add more but it's getting long so ur turn and then everyone will be introduced to them lol)

Johanna was pleased with herself for the uncomfort she caused. She had made it her sole goal to make these two as miserable as possible. Malachi was still red in the face from her comment. It worked on him. They followed Mel after Nev checked his watch. Johanna could see the gears turning in Malachi's head as he studied it. Some kind of communication device, Johanna didnt care though. She was silent, a rarity for her. She followed Mel, only half listening to her instructions. I'll say probably anything we do is weird to these people. Johanna ignored the stares, something she excelled at. When they came into the main room, a very small girl came running to Mel. She hugged her and Nev put her on his shoulders. The girl looked about Phoebe's age, or the human equivalent at least. She didn't speak, all her emotion displayed in her face and body language. She was adorable to say the least. The room fell mostly silent as they walked in. Johanna hated it.

Mel's gaze went from Ada and Nev to the others in the room, all of them doing their own things. She pushed down her irritation as she gestured to the two newcomers. "This is Johanna and Malachi." She looked at Johanna and Malachi, gesturing to every person as she spoke, "That's Rhea and Finn," Rhea offered no greeting, her dark eyes holding the same coldness to them as they had when Mel had first met her. Her long dark hair was swept over her shoulder, the multitude of tiny braids all pulled back into one ponytail. Finn glanced up at them, nodding his head at them before he went back to their ongoing game of cards. Mel looked to Kie and Raz next, both of them hunkered over the table in the back of the room. "That's Raz and Kieran." Raz's vibrant purple hair was pulled into its signature twin braids, her eyes completely focused on a pile of mechanical pieces around her, most likely Malachi's gadget. Kie glanced up at them, his gaze sharp and cold before looking back down at what Raz was doing. Mel finally nodded to Ada, who had climbed down from Nev's shoulders, "And that's Ada." She watched as the girl scamper over to Raz, her big brown eyes alight with curiousity. Her hands moved quickly, asking Raz something about the gadget, to which Raz set down her tools to respond. Not a second passed before Raz exclaimed excitedly, "I figured it out! I know what it does."
