Mouse cringed at the sound of the skin and slipped into the hole. "I'll probably be gone by morning, I wake pretty early." Mouse said to Orange. "You should probably go."

Mouse was slightly glad the cat was gone. She set her head down. At least their nice enough to offer shelter, she told herself.

Orange lays on the couch and sighed he had to put up with everything now thanks to having a human which was sitting and petting me

Mouse curled up into a ball, thinking about the cat. She planned to leave tomorrow. But she hoped she didn't regret it. Why would I regret it though? she wondered. He was just a skin-held, nothing else.

Mouse shut her eyes tighter and thought of something else. Tomorrow, I'm going to head deeper into this neighborhood and look for more food for the winter, avoid any houses with dogs, and then leave this place, she thought fiercely.
