He tilted his head as he rolled right side up. "Who cares what they think. If they say anything I've noticed I'm at least twice some of their sizes ; and though I don't like it, I will use force." His voice trailed as he knew without hesitation if Luna was being threatened or if she asked he would make them back off. He looked at her as she stood up. Watching her fur move. He didn't know if he was just tired but for a second he thought he fell asleep watching. "Well, what do you mean?" He tilted his head as he thought it an odd question.

Luna looked at Blue Jay as she moved closer to him. "Once you become Alpha, you pick your beta" she replied. "Just to help organize patrols and such while your busy with other duties." She leaned into Blue Jay, closing her eyes a bit. It felt odd, being close to him, more so now that Blue Jay asked her to be his mate, but it was odd in a good way to her.

He nodded. Still not understanding. He though maybe his Pack called them something different. What was it. Associate? A second in standing? "I understand. I've though Cin, but I feel that may not work and it should be someone from this pack with a level head." He flopped on his side; onto Lunas paws and under her head, genuinely done with using his brain. "Honestly, the hole system for choosing an alpha is flawed to me." He admitted threw a heavy sigh as he let all his muscles loosen.

Luna nodded. "I know, but if a beta isn't picked, Storm Pack members will fight for the rank. It's kind of tradition that way. When a beta retires, dies, or a new alpha takes over, a beta must be picked before the moon reaches its peak that night, or it's fair game to fight." She shuddered at the thought. "And unfortunately until the rock brains realize how different the packs are, they need at least that to help." She didn't want any fighting happening on Blue Jay's first day as Alpha. That wouldn't look good one bit. *And even though I'm his mate now, until they see that I am more than an omega, I have to pretend he isn't* she thought. She didn't like it, but it was to help the pack, and her idea.

He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Do they realize how barbaric that is?" He could see she was against it and that reassured him so he got closer to her. Determined to feel comfortable in the cool summer grass and in his racing mind. "What if i just closed my eyes and picked one?" He gave a laugh, trying to seem like he was joking. But he wished it was that easy. "Do you have anyone else who is sane in this pack?" He looked up at her from the ground, thinking Maya may do nicely, but still completely unsure.

Luna shrugged. "This pack is all about showing off their strength in fights, and its very annoying. The only one even close to being sane enough would be Maya, especially now that she's finally speaking for herself without Orion pushing her around" she replied. She sniffed the air as she heard mumbles coming from the distance. She knew a few brave wolves would venture up here, but they usually left as soon as they saw the moon hit her coat.

He gave an annoyed sigh. Then he saw Luna go on high alert. "What do you need me to do?" He kept himself low to the ground and his voice a quieted wisper. Ready to do what she wanted as he didn't know what to do. In all fairness he didn't know if they were allowed where they where.

Luna looked at Blue Jay. "Don't worry. They will leave soon." She stood up, the fog growing slightly thicker with the moon shining down. Luna looked like a faded out ghost before she let out a rather vicious howl. She looked towards the noise before she heard the paw steps running away. She couldn't help but chuckle. "They aren't all as brave as they act."

He watched as she just seemed confident in her element. He couldn't help but let his mouth speak his mind. "A playfully elegant queen." He stood up slowly and closed his eyes he was so tired. He turned to Luna and just plopped his head over hers. "What if we just left?" The idea had occurred to him. Sure it seemed awful, but at the same time the only wat to find peace.

Luna looked at him, confused. "What do you mean just leave" she asked as she motioned for him to follow her back to the camp. She could tell he was tired, and so was she, but tonight had been perfect, something she wouldnt change for the world.
