Hurricane scoffed; he was NOT going to be talked down to by a female. "I do not sleep during the day, in case you haven't noticed, my pack is not nocturnal." His eyes narrowed with temper. He knew the she-wolf was trying to get sleep, but somehow he found himself wanting to get this straight, to let Star know that he would not be pushed around like a lost pup. Was she pushing him around? No. He thought, he huffed, this was not going to go well. He side-eyed Star and added, "And I was listening, thank you very much."

She scoffed. "Why are you being so difficult? Fine, stay awake if you want but leave me alone, and don't come crying to me if the pack keeps you up at night." She rolled over, going back to sleep. Why did this male have to be so difficult? She thought to herself, letting out a sigh as she drifted back to sleep.

Hurricane knew he had won. Smiling to himself in a sheepish grin, he got up, shook out his pelt and, got out of the den to sit in the last rays of the sunshine. The sun was going down; he knew it would soon be time for him to go to bed. But he was not that tired; after his very long nap after his journey, he felt oddly energized. The sun finally went down, the patch of sun he was sitting on was nothing but a shade of cool air. He was tense, he knew the pack would wake soon, and yet he had no idea how he would meet the others.

He heard the rustling of feathers as a wolf glided down from the trees to greet him. It was a young wolf, barely bigger than a pup, with cream colored fur and bright blue eyes. "Hi there!" she yipped, tail swishing excitedly. "I'm Petal, what's your name?!" She circled him excitedly. "Woah, where are your wings?! Did they fall off?" she gasped. "Did a fox steal them?!"

Hurricane couldn't help but chuckle at the she-wolf who bounded down to him from the. . . trees? Did he see that right? These wolves live in the trees. How . . . interesting. "I'm Hurricane," He said suspiciously, then added, "My pack has no wings. . . we are wolves, not birds." He added. He wasn't being rude, he thought, but his tone held a sternness to it, though his eyes were lit with amusement. Perhaps meeting the pack would not be a bad idea at all. . . Right? He made sure he held his head high portaying a sense of confidence in his stature; his tail was also. . . wagging? He shook his head. There is no way he is playful with a pup. He hates pups; he always thought they were annoying. Is this wolf a pup? He thought to himself, his eyes scanned the wolf, she was young. He noted, but she had muscles from being a mature wolf; her body was not too skinny like a pup; it was filled out. He rolled his eyes and willed his tail to stop swishing in the ground, he was NOT going to play with a pup.

"Birds aren't the only creatures with wings!" she squeaked, bouncing around him. "Wait, your whole PACK doesn't have wings?!" she gasped, stopping and staring at him like he'd grown a second head. "How do you survive without wings? You've never felt the wing in your fur, or flown under the stars or-" she was cut off by another wolf calling to her. A female wolf with light gray fur and wings that faded to white at the ends landed next to the young she-wolf, guiding her away. "Go back to the den," she chided gently, before turning to Hurricane. "Sorry about her, she's a bit much sometimes. So, you're Star's mate?" she asked, tilting her head curiously. "You may want to make a good impression, the wolves here are quite protective of our beta." Her wings fluttered as she folded them against her back.

Hurricane chuckled, "We are wolves, not winged creatures. We thrive from the ground." He said to the small female, but the pup was taken away from another she-wolf. Hurricane assumed this one was the mother, perhaps? Or a friend? She did not know. "Yeah," He sighed, "I guess I am her mate, though we barely know each other." He replied to the female. He was wondering if perhaps he would settle and let his guard down, get to know his new half-pack. But not right now, no. He still does not trust them one bit, for all he knew, these wolves could be deceiving him, getting him to do things to get an advantage over his birth pack. "I'm sure they are quite well protected of their beta, as mine are protected of me. I'm the beta of my pack too."

The wolf nodded. "I'm sure they are. Well, I best be on my way, but you should talk to the alphas." Glancing at his back, her head tilted to the side. "Oh, you... don't have wings. Well, I'll go tell them you're awake." With that, she turned, flying back up into the trees. A moment later, Star emerged from their shared den, yawning. She looked exhausted, wings drooping and her paws dragging against the ground with each step.

Hurricane nodded as the wolf left to grab the alpha's. Though he could not help but feel nervous, he kept wondering if they would approve of him, if perhaps they would like him. But he would not know until he met them, and until then, he was going to continue to worry. But he has a standard to uphold; he has to show that he is the beta male of his pack, that he is power and strength, a wolf with no weakness. So, with that, that is the face and the illusion he is going to play from now on. Everyone a part of the Blood Moon Pack, including his mate, will know the beta side of him, not the side that he has worked so hard to disclose, to keep away from others. . . Including himself. He saw Star emerge from her den; her wings were drooping with tiredness, though they never touched the ground completely. Her paws were dragging against the earth. He realized that perhaps he had kept her up for most of the night, and that her tiredness was partially his fault. "Hello," He said with a curt nod, though perhaps he needs to stop the curt nodding bullshit; this she-wolf will be his mate; he needs to be more loving. But again, he barely knew the she-wolf, and could not find it in him to even get to know her. But to keep a high profile and avoid arousing suspicion, fortunately, he is forced to talk, interact, and get to know the she-wolf. "How was your sleep?" He added.
