Nothing super low will get you a lot of prey. Levels 10-20 are best if you want a lot of prey but if you don't have good wolves around 7-9 are best.

Not far. Kalen felt a small burst of alarm. He had come this close to their camp without even realizing it? A shudder ran down his spine before he finally trailed after her.

"I guess it's good we kept those rogues from getting too close," he mused after a moment, trailing behind her rather than at her side. "You... what exactly is this pack called? Just so I have some idea of where I am and ..."

He paused. "Where I've been, I guess." That was a little more of a rough thought. He had seen and visited a few packs, now... he was so far from where he started.

Ivy padded along at a decent pace, her ears swiveling around as she listened for any more disturbances. They were close enough now that she didn't expect there to be anymore troublesome rogues, but one could never be too cautious.

Ivy shook her head, a soft laugh escaping her chest at his words. Had they not lured her out and chased her, they likely would have been killed or chased away the moment they got too close to their camp. "My name is Ivy. My pack is called Bloodmoon, and I imagine you would have passed the Red Woods on your way through," she said thoughtfully, glancing over her shoulder at him.

Ivy wondered just how far he was from his origin or if he was running to or from something. She had so many questions she wanted to ask, but felt as though it would be too intrusive to do so.

It wasn't long before the hustle and bustle of pack life could be heard, the laughter of children echoing in the near distance as well as voices of adults. "We're here. If you wouldn't mind, it would be wise for you to shift. You'll be viewed as less of a threat," she explained, slowing to a stop as they'd gotten close.

Ivy. It was a fitting name at least for the werewolf. The Bloodmoon pack and Red Woods which he had probably passed without ever knowing it. However, he noticed the look from her and glanced away. He had seen that look plenty of times.

The wonder of where he was, where he had been going, or where he was going, what his past was--it was the same old thing every single time. But this time, she kept her wonder to herself. Which was a surprise.

Kalen paused for a moment, realizing he hadn't spoken at all. "My... my name is Kalen," he finally said. Shifting?

Oh... well... he hadn't done that in a while.

Kalen took in a deep breath, nodded briefly, and shifted. He seemed a touch unsteady on two feet instead of four. "Do ... do I look okay?" He asked quietly, almost hesitantly.

Ivy wasn't one to push to know things that weren't her business, especially if you were a stranger to her. That's not to say her curiousity wouldn't get the better of her eventually, but if one was to stick around long enough it might.

Kalen was a well fitting name for the male, though she didn't say much on the matter. Instead, she took the time to shift, revealing a woman just as tiny as her wolf suggested. She turned to face Kalen as she heard him speak, her bright eyes widening slightly as she had to look up to view his face.

What a giant... Handsome too.
Ivy realized that she had been staring a touch too long, nodding her head to answer his question. "Y-Yes, you look fine. You haven't shifted in a while I take it?" She asked, tilting her head to the side as she tucked some loose hair behind her ear.

"Been... a few years," Kalen admitted after a moment, lifting his hand to rub the back of his neck. Granted, he had expected that he would be somewhat larger than Ivy--just due to the size difference as wolves--but this? This seemed... excessive. Had he really gotten that much taller?

Kalen shook his head for a moment or two, his vibrant--piercing--green eyes looking down at the woman for a moment or two. "It's... definitely been a while," he admitted quietly, confirming once again her question.

He couldn't blame her for stammering. Kalen probably would stammer as well if he knew what he really looked like. But he finally took in a breath, ignored that whole side of things and looked out toward the sound of children, general chaos and well... people.

"Is there anything in particular I should know about the pack first? Any customs, or... or stuff like that?" Kalen lowered his volume, barely over a whisper. In wolf form it was easy to be confident, playful and giddy. He had been in wolf for years. Human? Not so easy.

Years? Ivy couldn't dream of staying in one form for years. It only further fueled the fire that left her wondering how long he'd been traveling alone. "A while indeed," she nodded, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. He'd easily be one of the tallest people around compared to the other men in the pack, who mostly topped out around 6'0".
Ivy shook her head at his next question, giving him a reassuring smile. "No. Just be polite and be yourself, and I promise you'll be fine," she told him, motioning for them to begin walking again. "No one should give you any problems since you're with me. They have a tendency to trust my judgement," she explained, her stride short and steady.

It had been a long time since they'd had a visitor, but they hadn't forgotten their manners. As long as no trouble was started, then there would continue to be no trouble.

Well, Kalen could at least hope so. But that look she had given him was enough to tell that she wasn't quite aware of what it was like. Kalen knew full well he was quite the giant--quite the man indeed--and now did his best to remind himself that yes, he was in fact human as well.

Even if he... didn't feel human at times.

Just be polite? Well, he'd focus on that one rather than 'be himself' which... totally wasn't because he didn't know who he really was. No! Of course not.

Oh it totally was. He wasn't going to lie at all.

Ivy turned, walking toward the camp and Kalen took slow and steady steps to keep up with the much smaller werewolf. "I mean, I don't really like starting trouble in the first place. Too much stress," he managed a wane smile and a lopsided wink.

Ivy was still reeling at the thought of having stayed in his wolf form for years. Who was this man? Did he just prefer the wilder side of life? Living full immersed in nature rather than partially? It was insane to think about. Perhaps she'd get around to asking him if he stayed around for long enough.

Ivy smiled and nodded, relieved to hear he wouldn't want to start trouble in the first place. She giggled, blushing lightly at the wink he'd given her. "Good to know," she replied, her smile remaining as the people of her pack came into view. Heads snapped around as a new scent entered the air, their gazes curious about the new comer but overall friendly seeming.

A man who appeared to be in his mid to late forties walked their way and Ivy looked up at Kalen. "This is our Alpha," she informed him, pausing as they'd neared the man. "Ivy, who's your friend here?" He asked, gesturing to Kalen. "Alpha Jeremy, this is Kalen. He saved me from a pair of rogues earlier this morning," she explained, glancing from Jeremy to Kalen with a gentle smile.

The Alpha smiled lightly, extending a hand out to Kalen. "Well, I must say a thanks then. I take it that our darling Ivy has offered you a place to rest for the time being, so please, make yourself comfortable and do let us know if you need anything," he said politely, fulfilling Ivy's earlier promise that they would be just as welcoming.

Kalen nodded briefly, smiling in return. It was far warmer and much more genuine than before and remained partially as the attention slowly drew towards him. The man had a feeling he would gather a few looks, a couple stares and more than a few judging and scrutinizing eyes. He did his best to ignore them.

As Ivy introduced the Alpha of the pack, Kalen dipped his head in respect, his eyes closed. He stayed silent as the two interchanged a brief conversation, describing what had happened, a general summary of who he had introduced himself as and the notion that it wasn't uncommon for Ivy to offer hospitality to newcomers.

"That's plenty alright, Alpha Jeremy," Kalen returned the words gently and gratefully. "I just need a place to rest for a few days. Perhaps to reorient myself."

Most of everyone was curious of this newcomer, their gazes lingering and taking him in. The children were the most curious of all, whispering and giggling to themselves as they played.

"Of course. We're happy to have you. I'll let you two get settled then," he nodded, his voice rumbling deeply in his chest. The Alpha dipped his head as a form of goodbye, leaving the pair alone for the time being. He was more than used to Ivy being the one to find people to invite to stay a while. It hadn't happened in a while, but it seemed that she attracted the presence of strangers.

Ivy turned to smile up at Kalen, pleased that things had went well so far. "Would you like for me to take you to my house? You could rest and get accustomed with yourself again," she suggested, though would be perfectly fine with touring the outside grounds as well. She just didn't want for Kalen to be uncomfortable.
