He licked his new mates cheek, "Everything will be ok." He said, but it felt like a lie. He didnt know if he would be better. His leg still throbbed and he winced as he hit a rock. But they still continued on. They were a bit outside camp but still in their territory. The bleeding was increasing just a little as he put weight on it. He looked at Alecia, who looked beaten up. She was obviously blaming what happened on her. "Alecia," he paused wincing, "Dont beat yourself up about this." He said reassuringly. He knew no matter what he said she'd still do it, but he wanted to look comforting. Their camp was in view and he could see his pack. Some were sleeping while others were playing. But they paused as they saw their leaders come into the camp. The healers rushed up immediately, rushing his to his den. He gave one last reassuring glance at Alecia then turned to go to his den, limping next to Sneaker and the Healer.

She was worried and it caused her to whin quietly as she slowly walked with him, helping him to keep himself up. Slowly camp came into sight which eased her worries just a little bit. "I'll try not to." She said softly. As the healers ran up and took him she wined more and paced. She followed them and Sneaker to his den. Their den. The healers wouldn't let her inside so she did a mixture of pace amd sit outside the opening of the den. Hoping he was okay, that they had stopped the bleeding.

He layed down, pain gushing up his leg, he winced. He would never blame Alecia for this, he loved her, and it was his job to protect her. The healers had stopped the bleeding, which was a good sign. They had wrapped aloe leaves and mud on the wound. Soothing and stopping the bleeding. Hondo should be alright. The leg was broken, but it would heal. The healers told him that Alecia could come in. "Alecia." He said. "You can come in now." He said, panting with pain, but trying to hide it.

She sat outside, hearing the occasional wines from the den. She could smell the blood and knew he was in pain. She eventually just laid down, knowing pacing was pointless. Seeing healers come out to get some things and go back in She tried to get information but they refused to tell her anything. Eventually Hondo called her in and she walked in eagerly. She could tell he was holding back pain with every breath. She slowly crawled to his side and licked his nose. "It's all okay now, you don't have to pretend to be fine." Alecia said in a hushed tone besides him, wanting to comfort him.

"I truly am fine." He sighed. "It just hurts alittle." He said giving out a pain whine. He eventually just laid his head back and tryed to fall asleep, hoping he could. But he couldn't, not with all the pain. He licked her muzzle back. "Alecia, dont beat yourself up. Because I cant stand to see you in bad condition." He said smiling. "Because I love you." Then he layed his head back on her shoulder and once again attempted to sleep.

She sighed, knowing he was lying because of his wines. "Your not, but you will be." She said softly as he nuzzle into her. She stayed still, letting him get comfortable. He put his head on her shoulder and she put her head over his, keeping him warm in her fur. "I love you too." Her voice was quiet, soft, and affectionate. "And okay, I'll stop beating myself up. Only because you asked me too." She sighed, knowing he wouldn't cave on it.

He was lucky to have survived the night. The early morning rays peeked in to the den. He lifted his head. His leg was starting to feel better, but still hurt. He turned and saw Alecia, his heart swelled. He truly loved her. He laid his head back down. He would get better, deep down he knew he was going to get better.

She stayed at his side all night. Not letting anyone in who wasn't a healer or Sneeker. As they night went on healers visited less, each time they left the smelt less and less anxious about his leg. It reassured her he would be okay. She finally let herself go to sleep till sun up. She woke next to him and locked his nose, hoping she hadn't woken him up as he still had a lot of healing to do. She was a little hungry, but easily chose to stay next to him. She looked over, he had his head down and she tilted hers. Happy he didn't look like he was in much pain.

Hondo turned back over and saw that Alecia was awake. His tail thumped tue ground. The early light glowing off of her fur made her look like she shined. His leg started hurting less and less, but he wouldnt be able to walk for days. He looked at his new mate. "How are you?" He asked affectionately. He knew she had a rough night. "Dont worry about me, I'll be fine."

She stayed near the enetrance of the den he was in and watched everyone, protecting him. The sun rising over the trees and down into their territory. The healers had done all they could so she stayed up all night, just to be safe. From behind her she heard the thumping of his tail and it half startled her, causing her to jolt, then sigh of reliefe and went to his side. "Im fine." Her voice was tired but more confident then anxous and she gave a yawn and laid down. "I'll always worry about you, its what mates do." She half laughed in her sweet voice, relieved he seemed to be feeling much better. "How is it though?" Her vpoice changed with concern as she looked back to his leg.
