Avery stepped impossibly closer, pushing Aspen against the railing, barely leaving a breath of air between them. A soft, breathy laugh escaped his lips, and he reached out, tracing his finger along the other man's cheekbone. His heart was beating so loud, he could have sworn that anyone would have heard it, and then skin on his bare chest fluttered with the rapidness of the beats. "I was thinking more like your lips," he murmured, moving his finger from Aspen's cheeks to tracing over his mouth, and then the doubt began to cloud his mind. He dropped his hand, and started to pull away, dropping his gaze. "Never mind. I'm sorry. I'm just making you uncomfortable. I shouldn't push you into things you don't want or aren't ready for." Embarrassment and sadness flushed his cheeks, and he turned away, his shoulders tense and hard. He swiped a hand over his eyes, reaching out for the door.

Aspen was overridden with shock. He didn't move a muscle as he was pushed against the railing a bit more. His heart was fluttering in his chest. He had to be dreaming this couldn't be real. The prince's hand found his face, a finger tracing against his cheek. He was too stunned to move or think logically about this. There was no logical answer to this. The finger moved to his lips. All Aspen could manage to do was let out his breath he didn't realize he had been holding. "Never mind. I'm sorry. I'm just making you uncomfortable. I shouldn't push you into things you don't want or aren't ready for." Right when the prince reached for the door, that's when Aspen's shocked phase faded. He lost all his reason and reached out; his hand grabbing the prince's free hand, spinning him back around and pulling the prince back to him. Aspen's other hand went to the older man's waist to steady him. Now would be a perfect time to kiss him but Aspen found himself shying away again, pulling Avery back against him had taken all his confidence from him. "Hi," He breathed shyly, blushing heavily,"W-What was that about a kiss?"

A smirk danced across Avery's lips, and he tilted his head slightly. "Oh, I don't know. Perhaps I've changed my mind." Despite his words, his tone was breathless, and his eyes were wide. For a moment, he hesitated, still unsure. What if Aspen was only joking? What if he was making a mistake? He studied the other man's face, searching his eyes, and his body language. Avery tried to really think about what he was doing, but he couldn't. His brain was fuzzy with thoughts of maybe kissing the other man, and Aspen's touch on his waist. A shuddering breath tore from his lungs, and he shivered slightly, a cool breeze sliding over his bare chest. Finally, he bit his lip, and leaned in, kissing the other man.

He saw the smirk dance across the prince's lips and his words. He couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed, coming this far to hear the prince tease him about changing his mind. He hoped not, his heart was already pounding enough. It was hard to keep his focus away from Prince Avery's lips and the thought of being kissed. It was tempted to kiss first but he held back, wanting the prince to come to the final decision himself. After all, Aspen had nothing but pride to lose if he kissed Avery. Prince Avery could lose his reputation if they were caught. Then the prince seemed to make up his mind. He leaned in and the next thing Aspen knew his lips were on his own. Aspen kissed back, his kiss gentle and soft. He didn't want to do anything that the other man would be uncertain about. His hand did tighten around Avery's waist, inviting the prince to kiss longer if he chose to do so.

Avery leaned slightly against Aspen, their chests practically touching. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss slightly, resting his forehead against the other man's, his eyes closed. He let his mind rest in the moment, and his tense shoulders relaxed. Avery slowly reached out and cupped Aspen's face to steady himself, and gently nipped at the other man's bottom lip, teasing. After a long moment, that seemed to heal parts of his emtpy, hurting heart, he pulled back slightly, immediately scanning Aspen's face, searching for any part of him that was regretful or unsure. Avery felt no regret in himself, and was sure that his face proved that. His slightly mussed hair, and shining eyes were showed the clear truth: he had more than just tolerated the kiss. He'd quite enjoyed it. In the kiss he'd found solace, like a man after finding an oasis in the desert, or a sailor home after a long voyage away. A small grin flashed across his lips, and he glanced down for a second, but looked back up a moment later. "Any regrets?" He questioned.

Aspen shivered slightly at the feeling of the prince's body against his own. It felt weird, their skin pressed together. It wasn't a feeling that was unpleasant, just one that he wasn't used to. He hadn't really kissed anyone before or had gotten close to them, unless if Cassandra counted which he highly doubted she did. He deepened the kiss when Avery did, frowning and giving the smallest noise of a pout when the man bit his bottom lip and pulled back. His gaze met the other man's, his searching for something. He wasn't sure exactly what the prince was searching for. He reached a hand up and through Prince Avery's hair, trying to smooth it back to it's perfect state. He chuckled a litttle, seeing how the prince was enlightened by the kiss. He heard the question and paused for a moment, thinking it through. The kiss was everything he wanted and more. "No," He whispered, the hand snaking down to wrap around the other man's neck,"What about you?" It was just an innocent kiss but somehow this felt more than just that.

Avery savored the silence, and flinched as Aspen spoke, shrugging.
"Um. No regrets," he muttered, looking down. All of a sudden, he was feeling very unsure. He bit his bottom lip, shifting from foot to foot, trying to figure out why. He'd been fine a moment ago, much better than fine actually. Avery was all tense again, and he rubbed his temples, trying to soothe the pounding in his skull. "No regrets," he said again, taking another step back, and leaving heavily against the railing, slowly sitting down, and resting his head against his knees, the light suddenly too much. His stomach rolled, and he winced, squeezing his eyes closed. His thoughts were dark, turning against him. How dare he indulge in pleasures when Emily was gone, and Robbie was nearly dying? He knocked himself again and again inside, his face tight with pain. A moment later, he stood, a hand against the back of his neck. "I'm so sorry," he murmured, the tears evident in his eyes.

He wasn't too sure if the prince felt regrets or not. The messing with his hair, the hand around his neck...it must have been too much. He did too much. The prince wasn't interested in him. He had to do something wrong. He watched the mood shift in the guy he just kissed. He seemed to go right back to his saddened self. The feelings of the kiss, completely gone. Aspen just stood there, unsure of what to do. He knew the prince's moods shifted crazily and although he said he had no regrets, Aspen couldn't help but assume he did. "I'm so sorry." When Avery stood up, there were tears in his eyes. Aspen didn't know what to do. Surely the kiss hadn't be that bad. "No, no I-I'm sorry. I-I shouldn't have let you kiss me," He whispered, taking the tears as in the kiss was bad and the prince was trying not to disappoint him. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking away to hide how upset he was. He wouldn't have let the prince kiss him if he knew it would upset him. "I'm sorry," He whispered again.

Avery reached out, taking Aspen's arm. "It's not what you think, I swear. It's me. I...don't usually let myself have a good time, and I've been so indulgent, and-...and I shouldn't have. You deserve so much better." Avery turned away, hurrying inside, and back up the stairs, going to his room. The room reflected how he'd closed himself off after Emily. The walls were bare, and there was only one picture in the room. It was painted a dull beige, and there was almost nothing that showed that someone actually lived there. Dropping into a chair, Avery sighed, tears still pricking his eyelids. He was furious with himself. Not only had he let himself have a good time, but once he'd chided himself for that, he'd hurt Aspen. He could already feel himself closing off, and he hated it. A moment later, he went back to find Aspen, hoping he'd still be there. When he finally did, he kept his eyes down, but he was taking short, quick breaths. "Please help me," he murmured. "I'm scared."

He flinched away a little at the prince's touch. It wasn't that he didn't like it when the prince did touch him, he was just sending mixed signals to him. He didn't want to get close to somebody that couldn't give him clear messages. He didn't want his heart to be played with. He did listen though, frowning. "You can be happy too. Even princes deserve happiness," He stated but as soon as he did, the prince ran off. Sighing, Aspen debated on going after him. He decided not to, to give the man some space. He decided to lay down on the porch and watch the clouds. There wasn't much clouds in the sky, after all it was a perfect day. "Please help me. I'm scared." He sat up, hearing the prince's voice. He offered the prince his hand to help him sit down next to him. "You need to sit down and take deep breaths," He soothed,"Come watch the clouds with me."
