"O-oh that's okay. He'll be back soon. Don't worry," Aspen hated himself for asking how soon. He just thought a welcome back party might help cheer the prince up a little more. "Oh, yes, we will for sure be fine until he's back. If you ever feel that you aren't and need someone to talk to, my door is always open," He soothed. Robbie's cat entered the room and Avery scooped him into his arms. Aspen scooted just a tad closer to pet the cat, feeling less awkward now that the cat was around. He and Prince Avery hadn't been alone with each other under normal circumstances. It was hard for him to remember to breathe and his heart was pounding out of his chest. The presence of the cat helped relax and slow down his heart beat just a little. "Do you want to go out with me?" His heart rate sped up for a second at the beginning of that sentence. Then the prince continued and he forced himself to relax again. He just wanted to go on a walk. Friends went on walks. "Of course," He stood up to put his laptop back into his suitcase. As he did sp, he grabbed one of his button down shirts from where they hung in the closet. This was one black with gray palm trees. He slipped it on but kept it unbuttoned.
"I'm ready if you are," He slipped on his shoes, his back turned to the prince.

Avery gave him a small smile. Small, but most definitely real.
"Ok. We can go through some of the gardens. They recut the lavender maze every year, so maybe we could do that?" Avery suggested, not exactly sure what he wanted or needed. Zara jumped up, ready to follow them, and Avery laughed, gently petting her behind her ears. "Or we could go down to the Tiny beach. It's super pretty down there, and the tide is low, so it won't be flooded. That's the beach we go to when we go cliff diving," Avery explained. "Either is fine with me. Or if you want to see somewhere else, that would be fine too."

Aspen listened to the prince talk about the places they could go. If he didnt know any better, he would say the prince could be feeling nervous about going on a walk. Of course that was a silly thought considering that the only reason why Prince Avery would be nervous about the walk is that it meant more than that. If it was a date and not just two friends going on a walk. "Honestly, I'm cool with wherever you would like to go," He turned around and gave the prince a smile. He gave a laugh when Zara jumped up like she was going to go with them, his laughter blending with the prince's for just a moment. The prince continued to list another place they could go. To him, the beach sounded like it would be fun to see. He had only went to the beach a few times in his life. "The beach sounds perfect," His gaze met Prince Avery's with a reassuring smile. He was really okay with anything.

Avery nodded. "Ok. It's really pretty this time of year." Once they were both ready, he went down the hall, heading out the back doors, taking a small path along the cliffs, and heading down a steep hill, finally ending up on the sandy beach.
The sun was warm, and the clear turquoise waves were bright and clean. Avery pulled off his shoes and dress coat, leaving them in a pile by the path, cuffing up his sleeves. "It's a lot hotter than I expected," he said, trying to keep the silence to a minimum. That was one of his flaws. Avery always felt the need to never let there be silence. Even if there was a lull in the conversation, he was ready to jump in and move the talk along.

Aspen followed Avery to the beach, surprised at what a pretty day it was. He hadn't bothered to look outside, he had been too busy with distracting himself from the worry he had about Avery visiting his brother. He wasnt sure what to saw as they walked to the beach or even when they got there. He felt awkward and out of place, almost as if he was doing something he wasnt supposed to. So he just walked in silence, deciding to let the older man do the talking. "It is a very nice day," Aspen agreed, taking off his shoes and socks as the prince did. He was grateful that he had chosen a short sleeved button down that could be removed if needed. He did, however, cuff his jeans a few inches higher just in case they got close to the water. "Do you want to walk by the shore?" He offered, biting the inside of his cheek and trying to ignore how his stomach seemed to twist in nervousness by simply asking that question.

Avery nodded. "The water is so pretty today." Barely brushing Aspen's shoulder, Avery hurried down the sand, splashing partway into the water, soaking the bottom of his pants, the sun shining off his hair. "It's just the right temperature," he said softly, waiting until Aspen was close enough, and then splashing a bit of water on him. "I hope it stays this nice the whole time we're here, after that storm blew through."
Avery let the familiar landscape and good weather to bolster his spirits, and he was clearly happy to be outside with Aspen.
"It used to rain all the time when we were here."

Prince Avery's shoulder brushed his and he blushed, watching the man hurry to the shore. He took a moment to recollect himself before jogging to catch up. When he did he was greeted by a splash of water in the face. "Hey!" Aspen's tone was playful as he splashed the prince back. "Me too. I like the warm weather," He told the prince,"Summer is one of my favorite sessions. That and fall. Although, I really don't like working in the summer. It seems everyone needs their AC units fixed. Hot weather and a hot house makes my clients rather irritable." He waded deeper into the water, enjoying the cooling nature of it. "I didn't have a beach nearby back in the United States. We would have to drive to another state tp visit one," He admitted with a shrug,"Normally the beaches there were disgusting to look at anyway. I like this one."

Avery gave up on staying dry, and ducked under the water, coming up with his short hair damp.
"Do you want to go cliff diving? It's a good day for it." He'd been hesitant to suggest it, not sure if he wanted to drag up the memories that went along with the activity, but he was ready to be done with the past, and since it was something he'd enjoyed when he was younger, he thought it was worth a shot. "It's safe, if you were wondering. At least on clear days. The tide is getting higher, so we won't risk landing on anything, and all the sea life will be way far out. But id you don't want to, that's fine too."

Prince Avery ducked underneath the water, resurfacing with wet hair. Aspen gave a chuckle at the sight of the prince with imperfect hair. Honestly, he thought the man still looked handsome. He just wasn't used to seeing him without his hair perfect. "Do you want to go cliff diving? It's a good day for it." Aspen hadn't been cliff diving before so he hesitated. It sounded fun in theory but he also knew the dangers with it. The prince continued to speak, reassuring him that it was safe. "Then I would love to," He decided. Cliff diving could be fun.
