Sloane scoffed when she heard about what Kanu was doing, but figured it was the best alibi for him to have. As the dinner drew nearer, Sloane went over her plan multiple times. She expected there to be hitches in the road to victory, but she would arrive there in the end. All too soon, dinner was ready, and Sloane headed down to the dining hall.

Kanu was drunk. He could not remember the last time he'd been this gone. Granted, he'd tried to calm down on the drinking for awhile, as it had been interfering with his job and his clients began to stop visiting to give him new assignments. So he'd toned down with the drinking. Tonight though he had an excuse, he was celebrating the coming death of the dreadful man he was supposed to marry. He was worse than Sloane, and she hated Kanu. So Kanu drowned out the night by dancing with beautiful women and handsome men.

Sloane was lucky enough to be placed right beside the Shoter. The King had his food tested by a servant to be sure that it wasn't poisoned, then gave the table permission to eat. The poison didn't cause an instant reaction, but by midnight, there would be no King. The problem was getting the poison into his food. She need to distract him. "King Shoter," Sloane called, her voice softer than it has ever been. She batted her eyelashes flirtatiously, "I wanted to apologize for all of my brutish actions while staying at your magnificent palace." She saw Shoter lift his chin proudly, obviously pleased to have 'tamed' the warrior of the heavens, "I was just... too intimidated by you, and wanted to appear even a fraction as powerful and amazing," Sloane wanted to gag, but swallowed all of her pride, and leaned over to him, "I want to marry you, My Good Lord." Shoter didn't waste any time leaning over to meet her in a kiss. People all down the table looked over, and Sloane pretended to notice his wine glass was near to being knocked over, so she pushed it away, slyly dropping the poison into the glass, and going in for another kiss. When they finally separated, Sloane looked down at her plate, forcing a blush onto her face, "My Lord..." She murmured, and the rest of the dinner went on. Shoter was a terrible kisser.

Kanu wasn't. In fact most of the night he entertained himself with other people. He was happily dancing about, having the time of his life with these rather hot mortals. Though truthfully, he was very drunk and would probably not remember a single one come morning. Regardless, Kanu had found the most handsome man in the tavern and was busy dancing the night away with him. The two shared kisses as if they were candy, and Kanu couldn't wait to see where the rest of the night led him.

Sure. - Sloane didn't sleep a wink that night. As predicted, Shoter drank his wine, and the glass after that, and the glass after that, and who knows how many after that. He, along with many others, were so gone and unsteady that no one realized Shoter's pain came from poison, and not from his drinks. He tried to take Sloane to his bed, but she feigned feeling sick, and took an offer to stay in a guest bedroom. She remained awake and alert, and when she heard a knock on her door at 4 am, she stumbled over to get it, made her breathing ragged, and slumped against the frame. A physician looked wild, "King Shoter has been killed. It was poison." Sloane gasped, and nearly toppled over. Any accusations the physician had flew out the window and he jumped forward to help her, and Sloane got a glimpse of the row of armed guards waiting. "I didn't drink," she rasped, "It..." Sloane coughed, "Must he poison, too... but... since I am immortal, it didn't kill me like it killed...." Sloane called up fake tears, "My king..." The physician tried to check on her vitals, but Sloane shooed him out, saying she had to mourn. As soon as the door closed, Sloane sat up, and tapped on her window. Moments later, her little bubble dragon was flying outside, "Tell Kanu it is done," She whispered against the glass, "Start at the bar. That fucker probably got drunk out of his mind, or acted like he did. Be prepared to have to search." Bulla nodded, then flew off.

Kanu woke with the way to fucking bright sun. It took him a long moment to get figure out where the hell he was but once he turned over and saw Orson next to him. Last night had been a whirlwind of events that Kanu could barely remember. His pounding headache told him that the affects of the poison were beginning to wear off and pretty soon he'd be completely sober. Which was boring but whatever. After he got dressed, Kanu headed back to the tavern. Unfortunately, he was pretty sure he wanted to be sober for today. So he ordered a glass of water and some eggs. He just felt like today was a bland egg day. So he ate, alone, head pounding after the previous night's drinking. Today was going absolutely horrible. He hoped Sloane had actually killed Shoter or else he was gonna be pissed.

The little bubble dragon had been flying around the tavern, looking around for the interesting dragon shifter. Finally, she saw him walk into the tavern from a house that certainly wasn't his. As people walked into the bar, Bulla dove down, and slipped in, weaving though people's feet to avoid getting stepped on. Spotting Kanu, Bulls flew up, and perched on his shoulder, "Hi there!" She chirped, "I'm Bulla, but we've met before, Kanu," Since Kanu was a dragon shifter, he should be able to understand her, especially since she started the conversation. If not, this would be a whole lot harder to explain.

Kanu was busy chowing down on the eggs when the little dragon landed on his shoulder. He slowly turned his head to face her, and gave her a small grin. As always, Kanu automatically brightened when seeing another of his kind. Well, half his kind. Not all dragons got along, but they tried to stick together as there weren't many left in the first place. "Hello Bulla, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, I was wondering if you were ever going to talk to me. Course, Sloane doesn't like me much so I didn't think she'd even let you talk to me." He shrugged, not quite knowing what to say. Often times, he couldn't speak to actual dragons without them starting the conversation. Dragon shifters were simple, they had human blood, but not all dragons were shifters, and not all shifters were full shifter, like Kanu. It was rather a complicated thing. Regardless, they were all related through their dragon blood.
