Hurricane tilted his head to the side, his eyes taking in every inch of the female. Was this the female he is to mate? His eyes narrowed suspiciously, "What if I am?" He growled. He had mixed feelings about this she-wolf; he could feel eyes on him. He noticed there was absolutely no one on the ground. Where is everyone? He thought to himself. He thought that perhaps they were hunting, which lit up his mood even more. He doesn't need to deal with the pack right now, only this she-wolf before him. As of right now, Hurricane wanted to go home, to feel the familiar earth under his paws. He yearned to smell his familiar pack scent, to be near them. Though he was miles and miles away. Hurricane realized he was exhausted, tiredness gripped him like a pup with their mothers. "Where's the camp? The dens?" He pointed out as he once again looked around the empty forest floor, though he spotted somehting not far off that could be a den. . .perhaps it was a cave. Where the pack resides?

She snorted, before gesturing up at the trees with her head. When he looked, he saw what felt like hundreds of wolves gazing down at him from dens woven in the trees. All the wolves had wings, all but him. “We don’t live on the ground,” she stated simply. “The trees are safer without the risk of foxes and bears competing for prey and dens.” She padded back towards where he’d seen the den on the ground, leaves crunching beneath her paws. “We’ll be living here since you don’t have wings like the rest of us.” She pawed at the entrance of the hollow, tail swishing. “Make yourself comfortable,” she added, tone cautious.

He snorted in disbelief. "You live in trees?" he paused, "Your pack is scared of you prefer to hide from predators." But he followed the she-wolf anyway to what was to be their den. Hurricane was fine if he had a den for himself, but he didn't understand why they had to share one right now. But he assumed that was how this pack worked. He got in the den and sniffed it out, his body rigid. He needed to make sure it was safe, that nothing was going to come out and attack him. Though he knew he would win the fight. Once he deemed it safe, he curled up in the corner of the den and buried his face beneath his paws. He was exhausted from his journey, he needed to sleep. Though he knew he was going to sleep most of the day and probably arise around the evening before dusk. He would hunt when he woke, and get some food in his belly. But he was more concerned on sleep than food. He didn't say anything else to the she-wolf before him, as he rested his eyes and went to sleep.

She huffed, holding back a retort. She padded after him, settling nearby, but at a respectful distance from the male. She shifted, trying to get comfortable since she wasn't used to sleeping on the ground. After a few minutes, she finally settled down, her wings half-covering her like a blanket of feathers. She watched the male for a moment, noting his odd pelt colorings. "Do all wolves from his pack look like that?" she wondered, but pushed the thought away as she drifted to sleep.

Hurricane slept through most of the day, not bothering to show himself to his new half pack. Though he knew he would have to meet the others soon enough. All he was thinking was how he wished someone else from his pack could've been chosen, how he could be sitting with his family and alphas. But that would be no more till the week was over, when he would be expected to make the journey home for a week and then return. He rested his head on his paws, enjoying the sunlight that trickled in his den. He itched to get up and leave the den. Perhaps hunt and find food, but again. . . He did not know if he should do that. Hurricane does not know how this pack is run, perhaps he isn't allowed to hunt at all. . . Or perhaps he is allowed. There was only one way to find out. Hurricane got to his paws and took a long, deep stretch. He looked around once more in his den and noticed the female that was to be his mate curled up a few tail lengths away. He sighed, and he walked out of the den. He should be glad to get away from his pack and that one female who keeps pawning after him, but somehow, he hated being here. She was a winged wolf; he was not. Their pups would be half-breeds of their kind. He didn't let himself think about it, he focused more on getting something to eat. He was surprised to see no wolves out here in the day; it was like he was alone. He wondered where everyone was, but he came to a conculsion that perhaps they were all hunting or patrolling. So, he took it upon himself and padded away into the forest to find some prey.

She woke up a few hours later, tired and groggy. She looked around, realizing Hurricane wasn’t in their den. She stood up, muttering to herself. “Why is he up? Doesn’t he know this pack SLEEPS during the day?” she huffed, padding into the forest to search for the male. After a while of padding through the forest, she finally caught his scent. Following it, she found him hunting a squirrel in a clearing. She shifted impatiently, but let him catch the squirrel before approaching. “WHAT are you doing awake?” she asked, grumpy from having to be awake. “Did your alphas forget to tell you we’re a nocturnal pack?” She sighed, not waiting for an answer. “We’ll talk in the den, let’s go.” She turned, expecting him to follow as she padded back towards the den. Her fur was still ruffled from sleep, and it looked… oddly cute, in a weird way.

Hurricane grumbled as the female said, "We'll talk in the den, let's go," and the female padded away. Hurricane scoffed, holding his squirrel in his jaw, "Why shall we talk? You realize MY pack is not nocturnal." He informed. But he decided to follow the she-wolf anyway; he wasn't going to risk a full-blown argument in the middle of the woods. He missed his family, his pack. But he decided that perhaps he could make this pack hate him just so the whole ass thing can be turned down. But the war. . . he realized, they are doing this because of a war. Perhaps, there is NO way out of it. War. . . or peace. That was the terms. It was a bit until they made it to the pack, he still had no idea where the rest of the wolves were, part of him were wondering if perhaps Star was the only wolf in the Blood Moon pack. He scoffed silently, he's being mated to a loner. . . how interesting. He thought. "What is the problem with hunting in the daytime anyway? I ain't disturbing anyone." He said through his mouth full of his limp prey. Hurricane was genuinely curious, he was quite literally NOT disturbing anyone. . . Right?

She huffed. "The pack heard you getting up. Even if you weren't disturbing anyone, did you not think to even tell anyone you were leaving?" She sat down in the den, looking tired. "For all I knew you were attacked by a pack of rogues." She let out a heavy sigh as she gazed at the male. "Next time, don't run off without telling someone." There was something in her eyes, was it... worry? Could the female be WORRIED about him?

He huffed out a deep sigh, he was tired of this already, he wanted to go home. But he can't. So, he decided to stop complaining in his head and move on with the week, though he did come across a thought. How in the hell did the pack hear him moving around when there was NO ONE around? He thought, so perhaps he shall voice them. Hurricane was sitting in the corner of the den while Star, his future mate. . . or mate? Was lying on the ground, her wings tucked over her. "How did your pack hear me?" He asked, "There is no one around." He also added. It was a valid reason to say that he saw and heard no one.

"Weren't you listening earlier?" she sighed, tail twitching. "My pack lives in the trees, since it's safer and easier to live there, and we all have wings." She shook her head as she shifted her wings to look at him. "You'll learn eventually, but for now just know that we hunt at night, and sleep during the day. And next time, tell someone before you go hunting." She let out a weary sigh, closing her eyes. "Now go to sleep, the moon doesn't rise for another few hours."
